Rella Cafe — Restaurant in Town of Ramapo

Okay luncheonette food. Significant cleanliness and food safety issues behind the counter and inside the kitchen. The buffet is loaded with inedible food. The pizzas are decent and can be shared.

I tried to communicate with the owner about some of the food safety concerns but I was ignored.

The owner's NYS food safety course certificate is posted in the restaurant. He must be immensely more alert and caring about food safety. If he paid attention to the course and if he pays proper attention to his restaurant, and if he cared more, he would know what needs to be fixed.

Pasta must be cooked to Al Dente (the lowest number on the box). It's overcooked. Nothing on the buffet looks edible. The cutting board behind the salads is always filthy. Cooks eating while they are cooking in the kitchen. No gloves when handling or serving food....

Instead of supporting countless untrained non-Jewish workers, please hire Jewish Orthodox professionals, including culinary school professionally trained chefs.

And please ALWAYS taste your own restaurant's food BEFORE you put it on the buffet for any customers!

Please serve constantly extremely FRESH bagels. You can easily purchase frozen par baked by the case and sells constantly freshly baked bagels! Please don't store any bagels in a refrigerator! It's counterproductive and it's unprofessional. They are...

I write this review while waiting a very long time for one of their many incompetent staff to finish a item I ordered a long while ago. The unprofessionalism didn't start here, right when I came to order it took the guy, who was buzzy with his WhatsApp, it took him nice couple of minutes to write down the few things I ordered asking me over plenty of times. The menu has nothing major to offer just the typical omelettes paninis and pasta. Very small drink selection, that wasn't tasty either way. And a sushi station that produces one roll in a hour. The food was not bad, but not great. In first they gave me something wrong. But thankfully they agreed to exchange it to the item i really ordered. And by the way I am still waiting for something to get ready. Walked over to the counter and they took it out from under the counter, it was ready a long time ago, but they didn't budge to let me know. Bad. The only reason you would want to come here is if you work in this building or are in they near area and don't have anywhere...

Work In the building of Rella see the staff who work there daily. Never say hello, No Customer Service Skills At All! The never smile, not a friendly atmosphere at all. The two woman are so unprofessional. They toss your order on the counter not alerting you it's ready. No personality in this place where you are supposed to feel comfortable with especially if your eating there. I recommend training the staff with how to socially work with customers.
