Overall Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5 stars)
Take on Food: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5 stars)
Salvatore's Wood Fired Pizza presents a delectable array of pizzas that truly satisfy any pizza lover's cravings. The crust is perfectly crisp on the outside yet chewy inside, a hallmark of great wood-fired pizza. I tried the Margherita and the Spicy Soppressata—both were bursting with rich flavors, fresh ingredients, and balanced seasoning. The toppings melded beautifully with the delightful smokiness of the wood-fired crust. While most pizzas were exceptional, a few more adventurous options could elevate the menu further.
Perspective on Service: ⭐⭐⭐ (3/5 stars)
The service at Salvatore's is friendly and welcoming, but there were a few hiccups during our visit. The staff was generally attentive, but it took a bit longer than expected for our order to arrive, and refills were somewhat delayed. Despite these minor setbacks, the servers were polite and did their best to ensure we had a pleasant dining experience. Some improvements in timing would certainly boost the service rating.
View on Atmosphere: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5 stars)
Salvatore's offers a warm and inviting atmosphere that perfectly complements its wood-fired offerings. The interior features a rustic yet chic design, with wooden accents, cozy lighting, and an open view of the wood-fired oven, which adds a charming, authentic touch. The seating is comfortable, and the space is nicely arranged to accommodate both small and large groups. Some areas can get a bit noisy during peak hours, but overall, it’s a pleasant environment to enjoy your meal.
Summary:
Salvatore's Wood Fired Pizza is a fantastic spot for anyone craving high-quality, flavorful pizza in a cozy, welcoming setting. While there is room for slight improvements in service, the overall experience is delightful. The exceptional food, combined with the inviting atmosphere, makes it a go-to place for pizza...
Read moreWe were going to a movie in redhook and wanted to eat out before the movie. Since we live about 20 minutes from redhook, we called Salvatore’s pizza so the pizza could ready sooner, as we were worried about making the movie in time. When we arrived we also ordered some salads and wings, paid for everything, including a 22% tip and we sat down. After waiting twenty minutes without getting our food or even plates and drinks, I got up and asked if the pizza was ready. They brought it to the table in a box and I asked if we could get plates and cutlery. The waitress said we could not eat the pizza there because we had ordered by phone. The restaurant was only about 25% full and there were several empty tables as big as out table. I explained that we were eating there and going to a movie. There were five of us. We were also waiting for the salad and wings. The waitress reiterated that we could not eat there because they wanted to have the table available in case people came in. I reminded her that we were people who had come in to order pizza, that there were four other table open that were the same size as our table. We ended up returning the pizza, and getting a credit for everything including the 22% tip because they insisted that we could not eat it there. I don’t understand why you would turn away a group of paying customers who had already ordered food, which you had made, in order to keep table open for potential customers who were not there. I could understand if people had made reservations for these tables, making them unavailable, but she said they were not reserved. They just wanted to keep them open “in case people came in”. Nobody had sat at any of the four open tables when we left. I saw nobody waiting to come in outside as we walked to our car. Crazily bad...
Read moreIf zero stars were possible, that would be my rating. I placed and paid for a delivery order on Oct 15th for Halloween night. At the time of my order I specified I needed delivery to be at 5:45pm. Heck, I even included a tip for the driver up front. Fast forward to Halloween night, the food was STILL not at the delivery location an hour after it was scheduled to be. So, I call, and I call and I call. Finally, after 12 tries, someone answered who must have had their customer service training waived upon employment at this place. I was told that they have only 1 delivery driver and that's all she could tell me. I stated that this was unacceptable. She then informed me that I could come and get the pizza...uhhh UNACCEPTABLE again. You literally charged me a $5 delivery fee to go 3.3 miles down the road and I also left a $10 tip for the driver. The last pearl of wisdom she shared with me before I hung up on her was that she can't tell me what time it will arrive. I'm sorry, but why are you offering delivery, charging a delivery fee and NOT delivering the food as promised? At that point, I hung up on her and immediately contacted the business directly, TWICE looking for a refund BEFORE I wrote this review. Nobody from the business has reached out to me to resolve this. Here is the best part of the review: the pizza I ordered was for an amazing group of special needs teens who were looking forward to this Halloween Pizza Party for over a month. Imagine how devastated I am to have dropped the ball and ordered from this place that left them wondering if dinner would ever show up. PS: they never got to eat the pizza if it ever was delivered. Give me my money back so I can host another party for these kids where the food will actually show...
