Read moreI've been going to Cavallo Jewelry for many years. They do it all. They are real jewelers- creative, and honest. It is a family that owns it but they are now a partnership which makes it dependable and always busy. I am happy to have such craftsmanship in the area and that it will be here for another generation. When we needed a special and very stylized men's wedding band to match a super stylized engagement and wedding ring we purchased from a designer on the west coast that had japanese metal finishes, they worked their butts off to make sure my husband's ring matched in style. It was of course even better than we imagined. They have stood behind their workmanship and even improved the fit of my own set I purchased elsewhere which was beautiful, but fit funky. I have sold gold and silver to them. I have ordered custom pieces. Small or large. We have purchased preowned items for a greal deal! And most important they are always honest. They'll tell me if it is better for me to repair something or turn it in and purchase a new one. As a sometimes customer, they will always happily clean my rings. Their cases are not full of what they do because a lot of their work is custom and goes out the door when it is made. The cases are a lot of consignment or estate jewelry for amazing prices. Show them any idea or design and they'll do it for you most likely..they are more than a retail shop They are real jewelers. Each person is a unique individual and they have a great sense of humor. They are no mall jewelry store with overpriced run of the mill pieces nor are they in the business of selling something you don't need or...
Read moreThese jewelers are outstanding, New York City-quality but better because they're nice as well as extremely competent. We are SO lucky to have them in Red Hook. Here's my story: I gained some weight, and my rings wouldn't come off my fingers. What to do. I went into Cavallo and Steven sawed the rings off my fingers (very carefully). He did this for free. He told me to go home and wait three weeks to let the swelling from the cramped fingers subside. I did that, too. No money changed hands. Then, I went in yesterday with what he and his adorable wife, Connie, funnily called a "jewelry emergency." (My daughter's getting married in two weeks, and I need my rings on my fingers again)! So, they resized the rings, soldered new platinum on to increase the size and had the rings done and ready for pick-up in literally 20 hours! This cost $150. Throughout, Steve gave advice, calmed my frayed nerves about my weight gain, and told me to come back in two weeks -- for free -- if I need any additional adjustments. I felt so cared for and respected. Just a wonderful place to do business. Along the way, I learned that they buy gold and they have a beautiful collection of vintage jewelry for sale. The best of the best in Red Hook! Thank...
