Transparently speaking I didn’t have high hopes for a Puerto Rican restaurant in Rhinebeck but whenever possible I’m intentional about supporting the Latin American community especially small businesses. I grew up with access and currently reside in a neighborhood with authentic Puerto Rican cuisine. The food at Cafe Con Leche was absolutely stunning, perfectly seasoned! I had the mofongo with pernil and a passion fruit juice. The serving size was very generous, the prices were fair, the service was pleasant, and while the space was small, they’ve made great use of it. Once she came back out, she told me I had the right item, which was supposed to be a chocolate chip cake, but it was covered in walnuts. I then asked or something different, a blueberry cake, and when she gave it to me it tasted like it was still defrosting - even though they advertise that they have fresh baked goods daily.
