**IF YOU DINE HERE, REQUEST TO NOT HAVE BREANNA AS YOUR SERVER.As much as I hate to give the 99 restaurant a 1 star, I honestly have to after what my family and I experienced at this location. We are long time customers of the Clifton Park location, and decided to give Rotterdam a try as my children absolutely love 99. We were greeted by the hostess, Tammy who we recognized from Clifton Park. She is always so welcoming, informative, professional, and ensures that our needs are met. However, we were sat with a server named Breanna. After 20 mins of sitting in our booth in the bar area, we had not been greeted by our server and a young hostess (dont remember her name) walked by so I stopped her to ask if maybe we could be moved. The restaurant was not busy, so there was no reason for it to take 20 mins to be greeted. The hostess reassured us that she was going to get her server who was "in the back" and she took our drink order. The same hostess brought our drinks over to us before Bre had even shown face to our table. Bre finally showed up to our table, did not introduce herself and rudely said "are you ready to order" in a rushing manner. I gave her our order and let her know that if the kids meals came up first to please bring them over because our children were getting antsy. Normally my husband and I would put an appetizer and our children's meals in at the same time and then eat our meal. We opted out of getting an appetizer as we felt uncomfortable at this point, and quite frankly like we were a nuisance. The hostess Tammy ended up bringing our food to the table, and very sweetly came back to check in on us to make sure the food was to our satisfaction. The server Breanna stood at the bar flirting with the male bartender, and was using profanity so bad that my child ended up repeating the words she was saying on the drive home. I am so sad that we had this experience, because we were regulars to the Clifton Park 99, and I now feel that we will never be returning to that location. Never once did she check back in with us, never once did she offer a drink refill. She seemed to be more involved in personal matters, on her cell phone, and using her paid time to flirt with the bartender. We even heard her make a complaint to the table sitting behind us about how rude we were, when we infact were not rude and did not even mention the issue to anyone or ask to talk to a manager. I am just now writing this review because it still has not sat well in my stomach, and my children ask to return to the 99 frequently. If I were this girls manager, I would do yourselves a favor and get rid of her. She is not a good representation of the 99 that I love and remember. Thank you to the staff that did go above and beyond to ensure that we were taken care of. If I could've tipped Tammy and the other young hostess,...

Today I experienced their takeout for the first time and it was just awful. I ordered the New England fried shrimp and broccoli was substituted for the cole slaw. When it was brought back home it turns out that not only was the broccoli missing, but the whole meal was disappointing too. It was a meager helping of fries with a bunch of small shrimp tossed about. The fries were okay, but the main part of the meal, the shrimp, was disgusting. They were greasy and had an unpleasant soapy aftertaste. The two sauces that come with it were just as disgusting; I couldn't force myself to eat that or the rest of the shrimp, and regret what I had already eaten because it made me feel sick soon after and upset my stomach. It's pretty bad when you screw up takeout orders like this. You're better off ordering local from Broadway Lunch - at least there they don't screw up your order and the quality of the food is much better and costs better too. This is the last time this place will be getting my patronage, and it's a shame too because I used to come here a lot. It's earned this 1 star.
UPDATE 3/15/19: had to knock off a star because I feel like the quality has slipped from when I last reviewed. I noticed that my favorite meal (the chicken tenders) has plummeted signifantly in quality. I gave it a few tries but it never improved or was on par with the tasty quality I had first recieved about two years ago that made me love this place. Not sure if it was from a change of staff or what. The menu I feel doesnt have much variety or things that appeal to me. Just food you'd expect from any typical family restaurant chain. The restaurant however is still alright.
(OLD) This place is fantastic! We go here frequently and I'm glad he introduced me to this place. It's definitely the jewel of Rotterdam/Viaport mall hands-down. The restaurant is nice, always wonderful and friendly staff, and best of all the food is great! The management is also nice, professional, and reliable. The prices and portions are also good for the great food quality you receive. I hope this place never leaves this mall. It definitely deserves the good...

Sadly this is the second time we went with the extremely high heat in the room (past 2 months first time, we asked and they did turn it down). By the time we left, my feet were all swollen (and actually hurt from the experience). I had to go outside in the cold to make up for it - it must have been at least 85+ !!
When kids were exiting, they'd leave the outside door locked open, The hostess kept ignoring it. We had to ask - several times - while sitting at the bar - Could you please close the door??? and then had to get up and close it ourselves once. We were charged for 3 beers and drank 2.,. Yes, they corrected it, but, again, we had to ask.
The bacon burger was ordered MW and came out MR.. The bathrooms were quite a bit less than up to snuff, so we felt we should probably reorder a whole new plate also since we already added ketchup, etc. on it,. and then had fears of food poisoning as flashback from a different experience at a different establishment where my wife wound up in the hospital until 4 am.. At the end, wife said should give a 3 star because they fixed it.. Only after we had to ask and we had no extra napkins - not even offered (for a burger) -- and had to ask for the correction on food since the barmaid never asked how everything was and again with an incorrect billing.. With the burger, we flagged some one else down who was hanging out at the bar... we may have saw a manager one time way off near the kitchen counter for like maybe 1-2 minutes for the whole stay.. That woman, if manager did not check out the crowd at all. Meanwhile, my feet are still swollen. Sadly, we are somewhat regulars and have overlooked the backsliding over the past few months (at least 4-5 visits). Hopefully someone will see this and take care of these issues as this is not getting any better...
PRIOR (aug-sept 2018): we found that they had a remodel. Nice, clean place. Impeccable service by Kelly. Had a great time, food was Awesome food...
