LOVE THIS PLACE!! LOVE LOVE LOVE! it's a small old fashion diner that's been around about 60 years I just found out. What that tells me is this. That the food is good, the prices are great, and the people that work there have been there a long time and treat you like family. Because the first time you go there, they dont come up to you and say the usuall" hi! How are you today? & what can I get for ya?" The people at Carl's kitchen comes over and not only introduces theirselves but asks yours and your family's name as well. They have an honest love for working with people. They enjoy their job. They introduce you to the other workers as well bc it's like going to breakfast or lunch with family! The people that go here have been dining there since they found the place. You can tell bc people at one end of the diner will be yelling to the other end having a conversation lol. It's a friendly atmosphere, you get fed quickly, you get taken care of like your an old friend not just another hungry customer. My husband, son and I found this diner about 2..3? Months ago and have gone every week since. It's always 1 of 2 of the same waitresses. They CARE. they ARE HAPPY IF YOUR HAPPY. they take car of any mistake immediately and HONESTLY feel bad about it.( you asked for a Pepsi and she brought a Sprite- when you ask for it to be corrected they feel bad about it and most of the time take it off your bill. This is a place that's never hiring bc the people they have dont ever leave. They welcome you when you walk in by your first name. It is such a comfortable, homey, place. I cant say enough about this FANTASTIC place! I've found it hard to leave decent tips at a lot of places not only in Syracuse but a lot of other places as well bc once you get your food you dont hear from them again until they bring your bill (a sign they're readyfor you to go so thr seat can open up). They dont smile or engage with you and make u feel as if your bothering them if u ask for something or have to have something corrected. Those places they get as small as a tip as possible and only according to the 15% rule. Not here. Here I tip AT LEAST $5 every time. They have it. Making it an extremely pleasant experience ALL around! Let me say it again! GOOD FOOD! GOOD PRICES! GOOD PEOPLE! GOOD/HARD WORKING/ CARING/ FRIENDLY, TREAT YOU LIKE FAMILY, AWESOME STAFF AMAZING ATMOSPHERE AMAZING PLACE. AMAZING ALL AROUND. PERIOD. MADE IT MY PLACE. The only place I need to go to eat when I'm not eating at home. I could keep going on but most people wont read much more than this already! Lol Hungry? Want to go somewhere new? Take a risk. Try out this old hidden little diner. U wont be disappointed...
Read moreThe only thing that is good is the customer service. Nothing appealing, got the “special” goulash comes with bread. Goulash not good-super sweet. The bread was so tough I couldn’t chew it. They don’t offer any “special” omelets you have to add on the toppings each 60cents, which would be understandable if the omelets were even remotely big… opposite of big. Super thin!!! The jelly for toast was terrible also tasted like grape koolaid . Big huge no for going back.oh and you get charged per soda(no free refills) they serve cans that are 1.99 a piece. Which adds up if you have multiple people...

I don't pretend to be a "foodie," but I do secretly judge a place based on how they cook their eggs. The eggs came out cooked to exactly what my snowflake of a heart desired that particular morning. The atmosphere was inviting, and the staff was wonderful. Got a greeting and a smile as we walked in. "Sit where you'd like!"
Love it!
We will be back,...
