Bobo's Cafe — Restaurant in Town of Somers

As someone who works in food service during these times of a pandemic, I was surprised at a few things.

A worker shook a hand of a customer. Proceeded to take a plastic cold up and lid, but struggled to take one individual lid. In doing so, put the one lid they didn’t need back with the other ones waiting to be used. Never washed their hands. Then proceeded to drink their beverage near/in the small production area, meaning their face covering was no longer on.

The one worker at the register, handled their Apple Watch, cash and the touch screen, then touched a brown bag with both hands to start a bagel order. Though they used a disposable paper to pick up the bagels, the bag itself (inside and outside) had been touched by an employee who had not washed their hands.

Visiting other establishments and working in one yourself, you understand what goes on. If an employee cannot take time out to wash their hands between touching cash and then something others/customers will touch, then at least sanitize your hands. Provide gloves, too. Heck, one place was putting on gloves just to distribute plastic utensils and napkins. I wonder, has anyone at this location or others even taken a food safety course? Ever heard of Servsafe?

Wear a mask to cover your face, including your nose. And if you touch the mask to take it off and on your nose, wash your hands or at least sanitize them. If my coworkers can properly wear a mask for 8-12hrs in a hot kitchen and wash their hands til they hurt, then I’m sure others...

The food is high quality. UNFORTUNATELY, this whole place is lazy and unintelligent. One time I ordered a bacon egg and cheese. Do you know what they forgot? THE BACON. The viewed the order and missed the FIRST WORD. When you order on the app you have to be specific. My lactose intolerant friend ordered avocado toast with the toppings she wants and OUT OF NOWHERE they decided to add feta cheese. Every time I order avocado toast it is sloppy. The toppings are thrown all over the box, one piece has a giant portion of the egg while the other has only a tiny bit, but nonetheless, it is always an overhard egg. Today I ordered my avocado toast and they put scrambled eggs. Not only did they put scrambled eggs, but it was again, SLOPPY. There were scraps of scrambled egg all over the box. I literally had to assemble my avocado toast THAT I PAID FOR myself. The worst part is, even though this place is lazy, it is also entitled with disgusting prices that don’t match the service. Unfortunately it is the only place nearby that sells custom...

My family and I enjoy coming to bobo’s for weekend breakfast. It’s always great, I just have to say after this past weekend, I just don’t understand the use of plastic cutlery, my son had avocado toast but not being the type to eat with his hands tries to make use of the plastic knives and forks, the toast was difficult to cut and more than one knife snapped . We wonder everytime , why no real cutlery, the food comes out on plates that no doubt wind up in the wash so why not the cutlery?

Additionally, the to go cups for iced drinks are so flimsy, I saw someone in the lot lost the lid on their cup as they opened their car door and the entire drink would up on the front seat. I came back inside and got the poor guy napkins to try to mop up the mess. Suggest looking into other brands of to go cups that are a little sturdier with a better hold to its lid.

Otherwise we love bobo’s and these are the only complaints. (Not even complaints really just...
