Hubby and I ate here when they first opened and we were not happy with the service or food. The restaurant is very loud when busy so having a date night out wasn’t pleasant as we couldn’t have a conversation over a large loud crowded restaurant. We went back tonight to give it a second chance. The food was so so. The service was much better, although they weren’t busy. The food wasn’t any better than we remembered it. It actually was less appetizing and tasteless. The pulled pork tater tots had a disgusting clotted so called cheese topping which had little flavor. The pork was not hot, although the tots were properly cooked. My Tuna Tacos were also lacking flavor, yet they were plentiful and pretty to look at. A little seasoning would have gone a long way. The $17 special dumplings appetizer only gave you 4 so so dumplings, and the dipping sauce was and oily nothing which didn’t really go with a dumpling flavor base. Not so special. Hubby’s Cobb salad was ok and plentiful, but the hot chicken was on top of the salad. You could see the steam rising from the meat. Usually we ask for hot proteins to be kept to the side when adding to a salad because it wilts the lettuce. That was our mistake. To add insult to the injury of a $100 meal with tip we both got so sick shortly after leaving the restaurant. The item we both ate was the loaded tater tots with the pulled bbq pork and that very unpleasant and unappetizing cheese stuff. Needless to say I should have kept to my one and done! I also wanted to add that they clean the tables after each service with some kind of disinfectant. The smell was so strong a huge turn off as we sat and waited for our food. Nice to know they are diligent in cleaning, but the odor was truly nauseating. All in all it was not worth the money. Too bad since it would have been nice to have another local restaurant to add to our date night list. FYI, all of the leftovers will be in the garage when I’m able to make it to the kitchen. Until then we are both in pain and paying homage to the...
Read moreDelighted to welcome Prime Pub to Somers in general and to Heritage Hills in particular. We delayed our first visit for a month, mistakenly thinking that the initial fervor might die down. Not so. Prime Pub appears to be setting the scene for Somers, a town that has long awaited a gathering place for the after hours crowd. We called on a Friday evening but were unable to secure a Saturday evening reservation after 5:30 pm. We decided to take the hostess’s advice and try for a place at the bar upon arrival. There are three two top tables in the bar area that are unreserved. At 7PM on Saturday. we gratefully snagged one of them. The bar was completely mobbed. Our little two top was a haven. However, on the other side of the glass next to us, we could view the growing number of reservation holders awaiting accommodation. We were happy for our good fortune! Our server was lovely. Overworked but in great form. Our appetites were not what they would have been had we had a romantic table by the pond! Dining in the bar area lends itself to, well, bar food. We shared an amazing and humongous arugula and beet salad. (Kudos to our server for keeping us from ordering two of these incredible salads!). We took her advice and shared. My husband ordered the 75/25 burger and was in heaven. I had the crispy fish tacos which were, in a word, perfect. We will definitely return soon “with a reservation for a lovely quiet table by the pond”to savor some of the lovely choices on the dinner menu. We just please ask you to re think your wine offerings. Lots of us Heritage folks have informed and refined tastes in wine and will pay the price for a nice wine by the glass. You need to offer more of these. And a fair price for a good bottle of wine. We are still laughing about the $80.00 bottle of Whispering Angel on your list of roses! Four times retail seems excessive. FYI. !!! The decibel level on our visit averaged 87 decibels in the bar. We expect that is lower in...
Read moreWe have been looking for a good restaurant in the Somers/Katonah area for some time and were surprised to learn that the venerable Imperial Wok of Somers had been replaced. When we arrived we were pleased to find ample parking and see the lovely redecoration that had taken place. The menu was full of intriguing dishes at appropriate prices and the food that we ordered was very good. However, the service we received was very poor. The waitress - a lovely, perky young woman - was slow to arrive to take our orders. The drinks came very slowly and the food was much, much slower to arrive. The waitress passed by once after we received the salad but before we had time to begin eating it and asked if everything was OK, but then she simply disappeared. She never came back to check on the main course and never asked if we wanted our drinks refilled, and it was only after a very long delay that I was finally able to catch her eye and get her to bring our check. A meal that should have taken an hour took more than two, and might have taken longer if we had not flagged the waitress down. I do not know if this was an artifact of the Labor Day weekend, and we do plan to return and give Prime Pub a second chance, but it would be a shame if an otherwise outstanding restaurant was to fail because they either have too few waitstaff or the people they...
