JV BAGELS Somers — Restaurant in Town of Somers

Updating my review after a year to indicate that JV Bagels continues to maintain high service standards. The staff are extremely friendly, greet people by name, remember the favorite orders of regulars and have real conversations.

They've also kept food standards incredibly high - if you get the cluck cluck (a huge footlong specialty breakfast sandwich that weighs over a pound on a wedge with two eggs, chicken cutlets, hash browns, bacon and cheese) you'll be waiting about fifteen minutes - because they are not a "thaw from frozen" shop. The chicken cutlets are made fresh. (Most other items are quicker - 5 minutes or less for most other hot sandwiches).

Highly highly recommended if you want excellent breakfast in a down to earth atmosphere with great staff and food.

Excellent bagel shop. Polite and attentive staff. Appropriate and evenly spread quantities of cream cheese on bagels. Plain bagels so good that you can eat them without any spread (butter cream cheese etc.). Good specials. Great specialty breakfast sandwiches.

The everything bagels appropriately have salt but are a bit of.a sodium bomb - greatly enjoyed...

Staff: This place hasn't been the same since Donna left over the summer of 2024....but she came back!!!! I have never been so happy to see an employee before when she came back. She provides such a wonderful experience and is always friendly. I'm not a morning person, but Donna makes me enjoy the fact that I woke up and walked into JV Bagels every morning. She's always asking me how my fiancé is doing and tells me to tell her that she says hi. Anna is another one that I hope comes back during spring break and summer break from college. I miss Andrea and Norma.

Food: Their bagels are nice and fresh, especially the cheddar bagel. And their Strawberry cream cheese is to die for! I don't like strawberries, but I was bored with plain cream cheese and decided to try something different, and I'm happy I did. The one thing I wish they did was instead of charging 80 cents for a 2nd egg, just raise the price of the egg sandwiches and already include 2 eggs like most deli's and breakfast spots. I'm so used to 2 eggs all the time that I forget to add a 2nd egg to my sandwich and it looks sad with only...

5/25/2024 I called and order two bagels toasted with cream cheese. The lady on the phone said we will see you in 15 minutes. I arrive 20 minutes after my phone call because it’s the weekend and they are very busy. Upon my arrival, my order was not ready, so I waited 25 to 30 minutes more to get my order. I got my order come home unfortunately my bagels were not toasted as I requested. It is very disappointing. Specially this was my pregnant wife’s request to have a toasted bagel. it’s shame that they can mess up , simple bagels. I hope whoever answered the phone can listen better...
