An extremely untrustworthy establishment.
I cannot deny, 58 Main has very good food. I'm not a big BBQ fan but their food is very delicious. However, I do not expect to give this place my business ever again and I must advise others weigh the risks. 58 Main is not a trustworthy establishment because of two instances. 58 Main charges an exorbitant gratuity charge and still requests a tip from their customers. The gratuity charge was at least 20% and we were a party of only 3 people, operating on only 2 different checks. None of us were pleased by this. If you dine at 58 Main, be aware your bill will likely be higher than expected. However, the true instance that has ruined my trust in 58 Main occurred outside its walls, but concerned a employee/representative of 58 Main.
58 Main sponsors a local wrestling promotion who in turn sponsors them. From what I understand they work together and are in close contact with one another. At their most recent wrestling event, a man wearing a 58 Main work shirt attended the wrestling event and was extremely indecent. The wrestling event offers people such as myself to to purchase table space and sell wares. This man was caught stealing from me, groping several of the women wrestlers and was caught lurking in the women's bathroom before ultimately being removed from the premises by event security. I was personally robbed by this representative, my father and friend witnessed the groping of the women wrestlers and the lurking in the women's bathroom situation and his removal was personally confirmed to me by one of the event organizers' fianceé. The same fianceé also helped me address the issues at hand and she strongly, strongly inferred to me when we discussed this person's menace to the event, that this person was indeed a representative of 58 Main. To what end this was futher addressed is beyond me. Now I am more than willing to discuss this matter further privately with 58 Main in the event I am mistaken in any of the finer details regarding this person, but with what I witnessed and the information provided to me by event staff, I am confident that this person was a representative of 58 Main.
I simply cannot in good conscience support a business that employs people who actively steal and harass women at an event that they themselves mutually sponsor. There is simply no trust and I must warn other potential customers of this...
Read moreI first visited 58 Main BBQ & Brew (Brockport, NY) in January of this year, and from that very first experience, I knew this place was special. The service is outstanding, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is welcoming and friendly—a combination that keeps me coming back.
On my first visit, I ordered the Three Brothers Special, which lets you choose three different meats and two sides. I went with chicken, brisket, and ribs, and let me tell you—every bite was packed with smoky, tender, fall-off-the-bone goodness. It was the kind of meal that makes you sit back and appreciate great barbecue.
Since that night, I’ve returned four or five more times. And here’s the thing—I don’t live in Brockport. I live in Pittsford, a solid 30-minute drive away. But when you find a place that not only serves amazing food but also makes you feel truly welcomed, it’s worth the extra miles.
Sue, my server on my first visit, made sure I felt at home, and the rest of the staff has continued that same welcoming energy every time I’ve returned.
I’ve even made a few friends—regulars who recognize me now, and say hello whenever walk in. This restaurant holds a special place in my heart.
After a long, stressful day, when I need to unwind and reset, I don’t hesitate—I set my navigation to 58 Main BBQ & Brew and take the trip. Because sometimes, great food is just food. But when it’s served with genuine kindness and a sense of belonging, it becomes something more.
If you’re looking for phenomenal barbecue, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere, this is the spot. Five...
Read moreOn our way back from Rochester we thought we'd grab a bite to eat uptown Brockport, but forgot the bridge was out. GLADLY SO! We looked at Pizza Hut and saw 58 Main BBQ across the street. Hey!? We never saw this place and thought it would be a perfect choice. SO GLAD WE DID! We entered through the front door and were quickly directed to the Hostess in the back of the restaurant. The front was possibly family dining at dinning room table style. Through the side door (which seems to be the proper entry door) you will be greeted by the Hostess and sat in the bar/dining area. Ample tall tables and stools. Nice atmosphere and set up well for watching sports via several televisions along the walls. Loved the unique neon beer signs, as well. I saw outside tall tables for dining in good weather. Our waitress, Michelle, was an absolute sweet heart. Our orders were taken, drinks brought, and we were checked with for further needs . . just enough. Our orders brought to the table on the small aluminum baker pans. The food was fresh, hot, and delicious. I enjoyed "The 58" a Grilled smoked ham & turkey breast, hickory smoked bacon, melted provolone cheese & sweet honey mustard sauce on a pressed grilled sub roll. The meats were hand cut, not sliced. They were tender and delicious! My husband enjoyed the ¼ RACK COMBO with home fries, beans, baked apples, and corn bread. The ribs were super tender and there was ample sauce. We've already recommended the restaurant to friends and we definitely plan...
