Mike's Subs - Kenmore's Original — Restaurant in Town of Tonawanda

It saddens me that faith in receiving a product as ordered has made me rethink doing any future business.

I ordered a Phili Cheese steak and 2 steak hoagies. I was asked if I would like mushrooms and onions, I said yes with miracle whip. I also got 3 large drinks. The staff prepared my order to go and my family and I left. Now I didn't mention that we drove from cheektowaga to do business. I get home open up my phili cheese steak and ate half the sub thinking gee it wasn't too cheesy nor did I have any taste of steak. I opened the other half of the sandwich and was shocked. All I saw it was filled with what I call a healthy portion of filler that consists of mushroom, peppers, onions hardly any goo of cheese and particles of steak mixed in. I received veggies about $11.00. My total order came to be over $45.00 with my wife and sons hoagies which they seemed satisfied with. I have done business many years but this is my last. There is no excuse that can be presented to me why this phili cheese steak was prepared the way it was. Come on the name states cheese and steak what do you think you should bite into and taste..... Order sandwich about a month ago, wrong sandwich was delivered. Called, spoke to manager Stephanie, and gave me a credit for free sandwich. Went to shop today, order what I normally order. Young man who made sub grabbed bread that was previously toasted off top of oven. His preparation area was a mess. He did not clean up from previous sandwich made. If you have allergies the area grossly cross contaminated. Young man slapped the meat on the sandwich, threw the rest of the sandwich together, and gave it to me. I asked for some extra mayo because I noticed that he barely put some on the sandwich. He gave me mayo with all sorts of gunk mixed in it. I decided not to complain about how he made the sandwich, fearing that this would upset him, and things would turn out worse than they were. However I did ask for some fresh mayo. Got back to work to eat sandwich, and all kinds of crunchy black charcoal looking pieces was in my sandwich. I called and spoke to Sarah. She said she would credit me, but I refused. Far cry from what it used to be. Admittedly we have not been there in a long time and we used to be super big regulars of Mike’s Hoagie Bros (A sister/franchisee), which was closer to us. My wife and I picked up two steak subs and we threw 60% of those subs in the trash. I got the Steak Knockout (which has peppers onions and banana peppers on them) and she got the regular steak and cheese sub. Both were SO bland we had to salt and pepper them. Mine was barley chopped up and when I went to eat it was very tough and strings kept it together. So I’d have pendulums of large pieces of I chopped steak swing into my beard. My wife’s was undercooked, pink steakum-like slices. We’re aware it’s shaved like steakum but no one wants to eat undercooked thin steak like that. Sirloin maybe, but not this. She was really grossed out. And it was rested, since it took me 15 min to get home to eat. I took a menu because I’d missed this place, she throw it out.
