The restaurant is half under construction and a mess. The renovations are very clearly needed, so I'm glad they are doing them. But maybe don't operate during this time. The seating is limited, and the staff are over extended. We waited 35 minutes for 2 egg breakfasts. The reason for this was that 8-10 friends of the owner came in asking for takeout. Instead of finishing the orders for couple of tables still without food (its a small space) they instead took care of large group. They all stood at the front of the restaurant getting their food made by the one cook they employee for a busy Sunday morning. Once the group left, we received our food. One of the customers complained to the group, and one of them laughed and shouted "that's what happens when you're family" on her way out (classy). Not an incredible look. Maybe I'll come back when they dig a little deeper in the pockets to hire some staff and finish...
Read moreI was in the mood for pancakes, but the menu had so many appealing breakfast choices that I was overwhelmed. I ended up getting the Home Made Hash with coffee and a bloody mary. My girlfriend had the Mama's Special with orange juice. Portions didn't look huge but the food was very filling. I'm a big guy and barely managed to finish my food and my girlfriend couldn't finish hers.
Service was good and very friendly and the place was clean. I disagree with an earlier review calling it overpriced because all restaurants have raised prices a lot over the past three years because of soaring food prices, so the days of a $20 breakfast for two are over. Everything was cooked fresh with quality ingredients, so I feel it was well worth the price.
I'm glad they're so close to my house because I definitely will be...
Read moreThis is a restaurant that I've wanted to go to for a while. One of my favorite dishes is eggs benedict, and I couldn't find a place that made real hollandaise sauce - until I visited Nick's. I loved the atmosphere - it was great, you could tell it was a small business with a homely feeling. The only thing slightly negative I have to say is the wait for our food was long, but it shouldn't deter you from visiting. As long as you are patient, it's worth the wait; the chef does a really impressive job with both presentation and taste. It was one of the best eggs benedict I've had, with REAL hollandaise! My boyfriend also loved his dish as well! The prices are reasonable too - it's almost absurd for the quality! We will definitely be...
