Went on Sunday 8/29/22. Near the door there is a sign that says to wait to be seated... but i think the employees forgot that it was there because no one came to seat us... she just looked at us instead, for about 5 minutes, we were about to walk out, and should have (we watched others do it)but she dinally pointed at a table rudely. This happened to everyone. The employee that stared before seating us had her young child taking orders, which was fine until the child never came back to take our order, and the mother/guardian didn't come check on us either... at all, the entire time. Eventually, (after 50 minutes of waiting) the lady behind the bar counter came out and started tending to the patrons (and ultimately saved the day for many people who were being neglected and ignored by the Child's Guardian). The kitchen staff was having a hard time that day. We heard other people saying they had been waiting 45 minutes for their food or more. Thankfully, the food wasn't bad. Our meal was comped due to the long wait. Based on other reviews, I think this was a one time event, but we won't be going back regardless due to the employee with the child.
I will mention, the extreme lack of attention by the waitress on the floor (the Child's guardian) at any point during that visit was appalling. We were not the only people that she blatantly ignored. She dismissively sat people at dirty tables after making them wait for 5+ minutes next to a sign that says 'Please wait to be seated' while she stood at the end of the bar, doing literally nothing. The dark haired woman behind the bar saved the day. I praise her. She stepped in and took orders, brought food, came for refills, and was attentive. She was everything a good...
Read moreI’d give it zero stars but I couldn’t .. my first time here. Menu is nothing to look at. Barely offer any food. We sat there for about 10 mins before we were approached by a little girl no more than 10 years old. She gage us our menus , returned about 5 mins later to take our drink order. There were 4 in our party. 2 Sodas 2 waters. She returned to let us know that they did not offer Mountain Dew so we opted for Pepsi. She then returned to let us know that they didn’t have Pepsi but Coke so we said fine two cokes two waters. She then returns with two Diet Coke‘s and asked if we wanted water I said yes to water she comes back with the two water and sodas our diet we let her know that they are diet and we wanted regular Coke her mother I’m assuming another adult that was working there came over to our table and said what’s the issue what’s the problem. I just let her know that this little girl obviously didn’t know about Coke Pepsi products. And that these were diet Cokes and we wanted regular cokes. The little girl then returned with two more water so now all four of us have water we gave them back to her said no we want to Coke sat there for another 10 minutes I walked up and said can we have our two cokes she said why are you guys being so difficult. The nasty looking woman with the tattoos all over her again I’m assuming it was a little girl’s mother told us that we could leave we were being difficult blah blah blah blah blah so we did just that I will never give you guys my business ever again. It is not that little girl’s fault she is maybe 10 years old and should not be working as a...
Read moreNice small place. Gets busy on occasion. All day breakfast. CASH OR CHECK ONLY!! If you have a hankering for some hash browns or if you just want to get some coffee and chat with your friends, Swiss Kitchen is a wonderful place to go. The prices are low and the portions are pretty big. Pancakes are a favourite amongst some regulars. The service is quick. I got my food within 10 minutes of ordering. The waitress, Sarah, greeted me as I walked in the door, gave me about 2 minutes to look over the menu, then came and asked what I would like to drink while I looked the menu over more extensively. Upon ordering a Coke, as they have Coke products not Pepsi, she immediately got me my drink and left me to look over the menu. I ordered my food and she came back out with it shortly later. I was caught off guard by the swiftness of the service so much that she actually apologized for bringing my food so soon. After coming for a while, the other waitresses are all very nice and efficient. The cooks are great. My favourite cook being Julie, who also bakes pies on Thursdays both to sell by the slice or a whole pie to order. $12.oo for a vanilla peanut butter pie. I come here as often as I can to order pies and to get dinner. I brought my girlfriend to The Swiss Kitchen for our first date. She loved it as much as I did. Five...
