The Deacon's Bench — Restaurant in Town of Union

Based on my last visit I have to go 3 stars. First off, the food rates 5 stars. Our group of 5 had some wings (delicious flavor and perfectly done), a Philly cheesesteak, Buffalo chicken steak, 2 cheeseburgers and spiedie platter. All were wonderful. However I will give the service 1 star....it took 15 minutes to get 2 lemonades, a Coke, a coffee and a glass of wine. Then another 20 minutes for the wings and fries. Our group was the only group in the bar at the time. The rest were just single customers at the bar. Shortly after getting our wings another group came in and within 15 minutes they had their 4 appetizers and drinks and we still did not have our sandwiches. Finally, after an hours wait, our food arrived. We never did get our coffee refill or a 2nd cup for another member in our party but I guess it was too much to expect at 6:00 on a Sunday. I would highly recommend the food but I will only be ordering as take out...

Used to love this place-but even with the old owners it had gone downhill. Decided to try it tonight with the new owner. Never again. One of the worst burgers I’ve ever had. Literally thrown on a bun, wilted lettuce and a small rotten tomato. The burger itself had a funny taste to it. Really want to support locally owned businesses but with food like this I just can’t. Update came here 9/30 because I REALLY want to like this place. (Close to home and coming here for years) I’ve been sitting here for 45 minutes now waiting on a dozen wings. I’ve been offered one drink. There are only other 2 tables, on a Saturday night! In the past you would’ve been waiting for a table. Sad to see- will end up closed if they don’t get their act together. Maybe call that show bar rescue- cause obviously you don’t know what...

We got an order of wings for take out and got home and the wing order was wrong. The Customer service when we called to see if it could be fixed or refunded was pretty bad to say the least. After we told the girl what happened she just said I don’t know what you want me to do about it. Then the owner got on and said the person who wrote the ticket didn’t see it and they would give a side of the sauce that was supposed to be on them if we came back to get it. After telling them that is not the same or really what we paid for he said he would take the same wings re -toss them in sauce. The wings that would be by the end of this be stone cold driving them all the way back there. They were completely unhelpful and on top of that problem we didn’t get any sides of blue cheese that we were...
