First I want to start by saying I have never had a problem when I shop here .It is clean and the staff is usually very friendly and I can always find what Iām looking for that is until today. I got to the counter and I noticed that I forgot my ID. I offered to show a picture that I had in my phone of my ID along with my date of birth when I was told that neither of this could be excepted by the manager and one other staff member I was fine with that and so I left .less than two minutes later I returned with my ID as I was standing on line I noticed the man in front of me who just so happens to be a white man was able to make his purchase of his alcoholic beverage with out showing his ID and was not even asked for his ID he was only asked his date of birth.....This was very bothersome to be because when I offered to give them not only a picture of my ID along with my date of birth I was given a whole BS speech about why they could not except it. When I asked the cashier why didnāt he ask the man before me for his ID he gave me a BS answer that he knew made no sense and when he seen in my face that I was not convinced he then offered to call the manager over I agreed on that....He went over to the manager and lied and said he didnāt ask because he had already seen the gentlemanās Iād in his wallet witch was a lie, Overall i prefer to shop there however I donāt think Iāll be shopping there anymore I felt my experience was a racist and discriminative one and Iām very disgusting and disappointed BTW Iām a 29year old woman and the clerk looked like was still in high...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTo whom it may concern, I've been a customer of yours for years. I recently moved out to Windsor. I have a liquor store near me out here, but due to your superior selection and pricing, I usually make the trip. Tonight I called to get pricing on a bottle of Johnny Walker before I got in my jeep and drove an hour round trip for a bottle of whiskey. Well, I got a rude employee on the phone who proceeded to tell me in a condescending and dismissive tone that you do not giving pricing over the phone "because of your "competitors."" Whatever the hell that means...
Let me ask you a question. What is more likely? That a customer is curious if your pricing is good on a product, or that there is some master scheme from one of your local competitors that somehow are too lazy to walk around your store and check your pricing themselves. They call for individual pricing on select bottles of spirits...?
Not only is this just about the dumbest thing I've ever heard but they way in which this was handled was totally rude and out of line. He was borderline nasty on the phone about it. Well, PROBLEM SOLVED. I'll shop elsewhere. Out of some sort of misguided fear of being undercut over the phone by your competitors who more than likely price match ANYWAY, you were nasty to a long time customer and forced my hand to spend my money elsewhere when all I was trying to do was shop with you in the first place. If this is an ACTUAL policy of yours, and the employee just didn't feel like actually checking the price for me, I strongly suggest you change it immediately....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy boyfriend loves good whiskey and often spends a minimum of $50 per bottle. When he asked an older gentleman to open the locked cabinet so he could see what was inside better, the man asked āare you actually going to get something out of it?ā. We donāt look like very fancy people, we are casual dressers, fairly young, but under no circumstance should someone assume we werenāt actually interested. After my boyfriend chose an $80 bottle of whistlepig, the man immediately grabbed it from him and told him once it comes out of the cabinet it has to be locked up again until heās ready to pay for it. A simple āIāll take that up to the front for you sir and it will be ready when you areā would have sufficed. Maybe next time weāll put together a suit and tie as to not attract any suspicion or seem as if we may waste...
