Champps - Victor, NY — Restaurant in Town of Victor

This was my second visit to the Victor location, and I wish I could write a positive review. We came into the restaurant knowing it would be a 40-60 minute wait. It was frustrating to see so many staff milling about when there were a number of empty tables. We assumed that maybe there was a shortage in the kitchen staff.

We waited over an hour to sit. When we were seated our waiter came over to ask for our drink orders. We placed our drink order, but our waiter didn't write anything down. He attempted a recap as he was leaving the table. The waiter forgot the one drink. We thought it was odd. There was one child at the table and I would think kid's drinks and food were a priority. He did go quickly retrieve it. The milk came out in the plastic cup but the lid had milk all over it. Someone could have easily wiped that off. We placed our food order as soon as drinks came out. There were five people in our party and the entree that mattered the most was the child's. Again nothing was written down. Unsure if this is a strategy to be more involved with customers, but I prefer a correct order over all else. The waiter made sure to say "I got you, bud."

The food arrived after some time. Our waiter didn't bring them out a few other employees did. The child's entree didn't arrive with ours. We had to ask and the waiter came back and then went to the kitchen and returned empty-handed. He said they would rush the order. About ten minutes later the child's entree arrived. The bowl that the mac-n-cheese was served in was far too hot to be given to a child. The side that was arrived was incorrect. The waiter went back and got the correct side. He did apologize. I understand mistakes happen, but this was just a bit much, and we expected better service. I hope that there are changes in staff training and scheduling of staff to support...

Straight to the point. If I am not completely satisfied with my meal or if my wife isn’t, I will speak up ( even more so with the increased price) . With all that being said , it was probably the BEST hamburger I have ever had at any restaurant ever . Mind you it’s been several years since we have been to champs and lately my expectations of what you are ordering is never what they put in front of you. Well take it from someone who Expects what I order to be what I want. That’s what happened at Champs last night and not just for me but my wife’s food was just as excellent ! . So I guess your wondering what we had , me the double bacon burger grilled cheese and my wife had the farmhouse burger. They Boldly picture each on the menu ( I say boldly because as u know what you get never looks like what it looks like on the menu) Well Champs does give u Exactly what is shown in the menu. And if your like me who goes to a restaurant hungry good luck thinking ur going to have room for desert . That was one seriously delicious huge burger. If ur one of those people who like blue cheese on ur waffle fries like me then get theirs . It’s to die for, seriously the best in house made blue cheese I have ever had!!! . Lastly I must ( and for the record I have never have said anything about the server in any review) but I must this time . I was completely impressed by Lane’s knowledge of the menu. His attention to detail . He told me I will not be disappointed and will not regret what I order and will leave satisfied. It is nearly impossible to completely satisfy me. Ask my wife, she will tell you .

I walked out completely satisfied. I. Can’t remember the last time that happened.

Hands down the BEST burger I have ever...

Came here with my boyfriend after holiday shopping and we were seated right away despite it being packed. Hostess was really friendly and we took our seat. We recognized our waitress, nikki, from a previous visit with the rest of our family and put our order in for 2 ice waters w lemon and the chips and queso app. She came out with our water but no lemons and looked kinda pissed when I asked her for them again. I also felt like I was being rushed since she had already asked 3 times if I was ready to order my dinner. It took just as long for her to get the lemons as it did the app to come out and when the chips and queso and lemons arrived I was happy again, everything was delicious. When our entrees came out I was so so incredibly satisfied with my choice. The champagne chicken and shrimp is DELICIOUS! My boyfriend got the hot Nashville and hated it. When the waitress finally came back halfway through the meal to check in all I wanted was a refill on my ice water and she shot me the dirtiest look I have ever seen a person give me and confirmed the cold attitude she had gave us all night. We are the friendliest patrons and both work in the service industry and know how it feels to work with the general public. To be sitting there wondering what you did for your waitress to treat you like such trash was a distraction from my actually great meal. Needless to say it was painful to still hand over a 20% tip and also if you have a problem serving people basic things and can't even put a smile on your face then...
