I have been a long time VB customer and will not return to any of these locations. They used to have better quality food and it’s gone downhill. My poor experiences are from the Victor and Culver Road location. This was my go to spot to purchase croissants and a Mikayla sandwich on busy mornings. Lunches consisted of grain bowls. The Mikayla order is always inconsistent. I’ve ordered this sandwich and lunch items over a handful times and last week was my breaking point. My egg was not poached like I asked. The egg was “soft-boiled”. This has happened a couple times before and I gave this place some grace. Grace has expired. One time it was so bad, i brought my sandwich home and fixed it myself. I poached my own egg and shouldn’t have to do this. If you’re going to offer poached eggs on your menu, it needs to be accurate. This is disappointing because I used to work in restaurants as a Chef for a long time and enjoy supporting this business. Poaching eggs is cooking foundations 101. Something is terribly wrong when you have a cook who doesn’t know how to cook an egg properly. The grain bowls were 3/4 of the way full and sometimes adding bacon is a hit or miss. I also received old bacon in my grain bowls. The only safe and consistent option to eat is the croissants, breads and pastries. These pastry goods are more consistent and delicious. The pastries are your best option if anyone is going to purchase anything from VB. My good experience with the pastries and breads cannot save my poor experience with VB I will not be...
Read moreBased on my visit, don’t bother. The shrill, rude woman at the counter made for a terrible atmosphere. As I stood waiting for my to go breakfast sandwich, as it sat boxed on the counter, she checked her cell phone, then turned and started running the cash register and taking orders. Even though there was a man running the register and making the drinks. She then set up an order that came out AFTER mine, and called it out. She finally bagged my sandwich after it sat for 3 minutes, then half turned, put it on the counter without even looking at me or anyone and said “to go for __” I was standing right in ftont of her. No thank you, no bye, no nothing as dhe turned back to the empty food order shelf. Please see the messy cold sandwich I paid $10 for, and even tipped for.
How can I even give a fair assessment on the food - who wants to eat cold eggs?!
My order was for no gruyere sauce, but again, please see the pics of the sandwich. How can I eat this mess in my car?
I was traveling through this town, and thought I’d give a local place my money.
It is a shame that this surly counter person, and mistaken order spoiled my experience. Better luck to anyone who tries this place - check your order before you leave,...
Read more8/24/24 edited to 5 stars: I found myself back in Victor, NY, today and stopped by for brunch. The improvements were evident! The dining areas were spotless and the restroom was clean.
And the food was still great!
My French toast was light, airy, and delicious--real butter and genuine maple syrup make all the difference. I asked for crispy bacon, and it was good. My husband had the smoked salmon toast and said it was very good. Looking forward to our next trip to Victor!
Original review 3 stars: Food and service were great. But the tables were nasty. I had to clean my own. The bathroom was nasty.
My suggestion: instead of the staff talking and laughing during down time as I observed; clean up. Wipe down tables, remove the full bin of dishes from upstairs (there would have been less flies) and by all means tend to the restroom and the dirty door and handle coming from the mall!
Then talk, laugh, and enjoy work as that is important too. A clean environment to enjoy my meal and cookie would have earned a 5 star review. And I probably would have purchased a loaf of bread, more food and sweets to go (ended up buying those items at...
