I have been a loyal customer for about 20 yrs. We celebrated my sons 19th birthday here back in Feb this year. I must say the hostess and waiter were a little curt and not very pleasant. Food was great, so we "got over it". But, we ordered takeout last night and it was the WORST food I have ever gotten from here....and it breaks my heart. We did order an hour before close, but when we got home and open the containers....it was obvious that something was different. My favorite is Sesame Chicken, another got Walnut Shrimp, plus we ordered crab Rangoon and fried shrimp. There were 4 of us and we all looked at each other when we started eating. Almost everything tasted like old grease, and the textures on all the food were the opposite from the usual. The chicken coating was mealy, and almost no sesame. The fried shrimp and crab normally have a crisp flavorful outside. Last night, the Rangoon was rubbery, the shrimp was very pale, no where near the golden color. It all tasted like it was marinated in old under temperature grease. We all felt nauseous after a few bites. Our order was over $100, and we included a $30 tip because it has been good in the past. I may try it again, simply because it was great for a LONG time, but not for a while....I still have an upset...
Read moreAll 4 of us were excited to eat at Changs Garden to celebrate our birthdays. The waiter was not very friendly. Put a pot of tea on the table. Never asked us if we wanted any other drinks. He did give us time to check out the menu. Food came out in a timely manner. We had to ask for drinks other than tea. I gave the food a 2 rating because what we could eat was tasty. One dish, spicy beef, was not really spicy but the meat was good. The only vegetable on the plate was fancy cut Celery that was too hard to chew. In fact the vegetables on each plate were so difficult to chew that I asked the plate with the Broccoli on it to be cooked more. The lady and the waiter were both unhappy about this but they took it back to the kitchen. When it came back it was still very tuff to eat. We thought at least the top part would be softer but it was not. The man with happy family meal also could not eat the vegetables. My meal had cashews and chicken and tasted good but it also had way too much Celery. I am very disappointed that most of the vegetables were thrown out. I do not feel it was worth the $70 I was charged for it. Will not recommend this restaurant and will...
Read moreWhere do I start. We have been coming here for about 20 years and have noticed a slow decline in service and quality. Now enter October 2024 and we witnessed a complete crash and burn. We came to celebrate our anniversary and experienced one disaster after another. Rude greeting from our server who anticipated that we wanted a dinner for two before we were asked or even before being seated comfortably. Almost purposely misunderstood our order then proceeded to rush us through the entire meal. We had just received the substandard pu pu platter when the food came out. No room on the table for everything so it got shoved around and with an attitude on top of it! Without going into more detail, suffice it to say the quality was horrible. Triple nest and lomein dishes were without all the meats they supposed to have. It just kept getting worse with a completely unacceptable attitude. UNBELIEVABLE! We refused to pay the full amount of the check and were peppered with more rude comments. “Are you coming back?” We said probably not and got “GOOD!” for a response. We will never go back and encourage others to not even going to try. Please save yourself...
