huge selection of sweets! cakes, cookies, pastries, donuts, brownies, all kinds of things- too many to name. my review is based on what I tried which was: carrot cake cupcake, buttercream cupcake, cream cheese frosted brownie, angel cream donut, cherry pastry, apple cinnamon coffee cake, cheese danish, cream horns, creamsicle cupcakes, blueberry muffin, a snowball and a custard puff. both of the cupcakes were great- soft, moist, nice flavor and both of the frostings were great. The snowball was incredible, that's my favorite thing aside from the cream horns and mini cakes. The cake was soft and moist, it has the same filling as a cream horn inside, with coconut on the outside. Incredible. AMAZING buttercream!! Actually the best buttercream I've had. The mini cakes are delicious!! The creamsicle cupcakes were soft but I didn't care for them because the frosting was a whipped cream type frosting. the custard puff was very flaky- the pastry part of it was wonderful, it had some fudge type icing on top which was really good too. the custard was- meh. didnt care for it. not much flavor. consistency was good though. The cream horns were amazing, flaky, great flavor and texture, loved them. The cheese danish was good, better after being in the microwave for a few seconds.. the blueberry muffin was good but not fantastic, the blueberry muffins at thorpes organic farms are the best I've had around Buffalo. the apple cinnamon coffee cake was soft, moist, and also good. the angel cream donut was awful. i took one bite and spit it out. im not wasting calories on something which isnt enjoyable at all...it was dried out and kinda hard and seemed old, the actual donut part didnt have a good flavor- was bland and there was barely any angel cream inside, maybe 2 tbsp....although the little amount of it that was there was good and i did eat that before tossing the rest out.( If youve ever had an angel cream donut from Paulas you know the high expectations you would have and this donut couldnt ever even come close to competing with paulas.) the brownies are not good. The texture is fine, but they're completely bland. The cream cheese frosting is good but the brownie itself is so bland and can be a bit dry. The brownies from Topps are a million times better. the cherry pastry was another fail unfortunately. it was cheap canned cherry filling you buy in the store and the whole thing seemed like it wasnt home made, it seemed like pre-packaged dough and filling. not impressive at all. like something you would buy at a low quality place, i would expect better from a bakery with such a great reputation like this one. I much prefer butter block bakery or frost artisan, both of those bakeries are high quality, scratch made...but I will be going back here for buttercream cupcakes and...
Read moreEvery pastry we tried was fresh and delicious! I was overwhelmed with all the choices from individual items to larger treats. The cakes looked beautiful and there appears to be a wonderful assortment of them. Also a woman was picking up a custom order cake and it looked beautiful. I really enjoyed the Danish and almonds "horn"(?) It was a smaller version of the almond ring. The almond filling was fabulous. Not overly sweet but a balanced flavor that went wonderful with the pastry dough surrounding it. I would recommend Eileen's to anyone looking for classic baked goods. Only sad part is they are not open on Sundays... But I guess that's what Paula's is for. Definitely nice treats to get to share with friends or family! Also don't forget to take a number if they are busy which they usually are! I got there on a Saturday at 9 a.m. and it was packed! They had plenty of staff on deck tho to take and pack up orders. Also very clean and extra dividers are up between...
Read moreEileens is a true treasure. They have a huge selection of treats! Their cookies were delicious. I got their old school sugar cookies in a shape of a wreath and Santa they tasted just like when I use to have them a child. The white star cookies covered in frosting and sprinkles were soooo sooo good. Prices are more than reasonable. The staff every single time I’m in there are so kind and friendly and I never feel rushed to decide even when they are busy which is often. The cannoli was solid. But I enjoyed their fry cakes so much more and their cookies. They also have a small deli next door which has great funds including deli meats by weight and fresh and frozen meats. Give this place a visit you won’t regret it.
Oh and we also found out you can purchase cookies to decorate on your own for Christmas. They can be frosted or just plain. They also sell frosting by...
