Although it seems as if I am giving this restaurant a good review right off the bat, that is not the case. I have a few complaints. Usually I'll take a quick stop when no other restaurant is open, and for the most part it's a great time...alcohol required. Usually I don't mind if I'm ordering an omelet and the hash browns are a bit under-done, but last week I ordered an open-faced bourbon steak sandwich having high hopes. I've personally bought steaks on sale that were much better quality than this. It appeared to be appetizing, the sauce was great as well as the sauteed mushrooms and onions, but as soon as I tried cutting into the steak to assemble my sandwich it felt as if I needed a sharper knife. I could barely cut through it and as soon as I tasted it I could tell why. It was as if I was chewing on steak flavored gum. I forced myself halfway through the steak since it had a price of +12 dollars, but in the end, I could not finish it as I was completely unsatisfied. Other than the steak, everything else was on point as it usually is. Consistency is always key with any restaurant but this restaurant does not seem to have it with some dishes. After I was finished attempting to eat my steak, I decided maybe my meal could be redeemed with a delicious dessert out of their rotating display case of sweets that look so appealing. That also is not the case because I've heard many people complain about their frozen $6 cakes. SIX DOLLAR FROZEN CAKES. And the only problem with them being frozen is that since they sit inside a closed container, they end up tasting almost moldy. No one in their right mind would pay $6 for a water-logged bought in, BITTER cake. Never get their cake no matter how good it looks, it's all a gimmick. All in all, usually it's really good if you go for the basics. Going for any high priced items most likely will not be worth it so don't take the chance. But if you've had too much to drink,...
Read moreWe had a group of 8 come in on a Sunday evening. There were very few other guests in the restaurant. Of all the places in Buffalo, my daughter chose GardenView for her graduation dinner, and I honestly wish she would have chosen somewhere else. On the positive side, our server was attentive and friendly. The restaurant is clean and comfortable. Food has usually been good during past visits both here , and I usually come for the eggs Benedict. For dinner yesterday, the breakfast entree, the burgers, pizza, and banana pepper pasta dish were all good from what I could tell. However, the two plates of nachos were half the size they have been in the past (also a dish we always order). We ordered 3 French onion soups, and only 2 came out. The server addressed it as quickly as she could, but when it came out, the cheese charred. I just carved it off, because I didn’t want to complain, but the soup was so salty I could barely eat it. Then meals came out right after. The sesame orange stir fry bowl was too spicy to eat even though there was no indication of a spicy sauce or red pepper flakes in the menu description. It was taken off the bill, and they offered a replacement meal or dessert instead but I didn’t want to be eating while everyone else was done. The was beef on weck was overcooked (no pink at all) and on the dry side (no aus jus), and strip steak was ordered medium but came out well done (again, no pink at all). Everyone else chose to not say anything about their issues, so these were my...
Read moreWent with friends one of whom recently suffered a severe stroke. At 40 years old...Completely unsympathetic waitress!!! We asked for child's size mac and cheese for her since she can barely eat and needs to be fed... Waitress said cannot do child size. Not even an exception or see what she can do?! Then later my friend gets the bill and he is charged for chicken finger mac and cheese... We said we never got chicken fingers. So she tells us we only wanted mac and cheese! Ok well you either charge us less then or give us the chicken fingers separate since you charged him for them anyway!!! So after he told her he will take the chicken fingers for himself (since he paid for them) she goes into the kitchen to get them but we heard her complaining loudly about us!!- seriously? You have 4 people at a table that can hear you rant in the kitchen!! Never had a waitress so nasty before.. Had we not looked at the receipt he would have been charged for chicken finger macaroni and cheese but without the chicken fingers. She could have said.. Ok well since I have to charge you for them anyway I will bring them out separate. Nope.. Just figured she would charge him but not give them to him.? Unbelievable... And rolled her eyes when we pointed this out to her. And had she told him the chicken fingers were apart of the macaroni and cheese in the first place, he would have then not ordered himself a cheeseburger.. ...
