Walks through nature and art for all!
This place is fantastic! Never new it existed until recently and spent the afternoon there with some family. It's very flat, so anyone looking for a walk through nature but struggles with steps (or is even in a wheelchair) can manage most of the trails quite well! There are many little playground areas for children (including one big one near the parking lot) and all kinds of interesting outdoor artwork with interesting information provided on each.
The grand finale is if you're able to go down to the level of Buffalo Creek and enjoy the walk along the water. There are many flat areas smoothed out by the water which are exposed enough to walk close to the water, climb on fallen trees, and even enjoy the water a bit - at least your feet. I haven't seen it personally in the summer, but there are some amazing underwater slides which children absolutely go bonkers for in the warmer weather.
Highly recommended...

Their random sculptures through the park break up the monotony that most parks have, keeping kids engaged. The rainbow "fort" is my favorite place- super unique and colorful, tucked in the back near the main building. My other favorite part is the raised wooden pathway.
In the fall/spring it can get very muddy in some areas, so you might want to walk in your wellies! Some areas can be flooded out if it just rained a lot, so be prepared - that's really all you have to be mindful for.
They have a big playground area when you first enter the park, and my kid loves it. So many slides to chose from, at different heights with different styles (wavy, straight, covered, and spiral).
It's a beautiful and unique experience close to home, with trails, sculptures, play areas, and water- what more...
Read moreIt took me too long to find out about this neat little park! My five year olds could not get enough of the playground here. It has a very unique design and its nicely shaded by the tall trees on the edge of the park.
Full bathroom facilities and picnic tables nearby make the experience very accommodating.
The little sculpture park was fun to explore as were the easy walking trails.
Just off the main trail, you can get down to the creek to throw stones, and visit the ducks in the shallow water quite easily.
Make sure you know how to identify poison ivy before you go and don't stray off the trails. There are some warning signs posted for it along the way.
I only wish that management would make it a no dog park, as way too many people feel the need to show up with thier multiple dogs, which isn't always welcome by...
