Disappointed to say the least, my boyfriend and i were excited to try a new spot in town, walking in we loved the atmosphere and the menu options. However we got seated around 12:30 placed our order shortly after. We ordered a breakfast wrap with 4 eggs, avocado & egg bagel and brussels sprouts. we waited around for 40 minutes…. We had told our server we no longer wanted the food since we were waiting for such a long time for EGGS (arguably the fastest food to be cooked). The server was very nice and said she understood we offered to pay for our coffees and be on our way. As we were getting ready to leave a different server and (im assuming) the owner come over with our food and basically told us we need to take it now because now its done, we were very respectful and stated that we just didn’t want it anymore and they essentially forced us to take it home AND PACK IT OURSELVES. There was no compensation or consideration we were told it was still our fault it took a while because my boyfriend’s wrap had 4 eggs in it (which makes no sense, are you cooking all the eggs separate?? they cook at the same time and quickly!) and that the server put in the ticket 20 minutes ago so that’s why it was running late?? Keep in mind this is a small establishment there should be no reason we were waiting so long for a quick meal. This being said if we were treated with some compassion and understanding by the staff i would’ve left this be, but having the employees tell us that it was our fault it took so long because we ordered an extra 2 eggs to be put in the wrap is beyond me and extremely unprofessional. we paid $70 for food we no longer wanted and didn’t want to take home. Rule of thumb to the establishment THE CUSTOMER IS...
Read moreI personally did not have an enjoyable experience here. I went there on a Friday night sometime late December. The (young) baristas working there were very unfriendly. She asked us whether we are staying or going and we said staying, yet they gave us to go cups.... We noticed later because we looked around at others who had mugs. We got matcha lattes and it was not that good. It should be a bit sweeter since it's a latte. I usually order them in the city, and so comparing it tastes different. I also was hungry so I got pizza next door and brought it back. When we walked out they told us that outside food wasn't allowed. Cool, whatever, I get that they are just following the rules. I will say that this policy should be revisited by owner or management. If you actually served pizza I would be happy to have ordered from your cafe. But alas, you don't provide actual food, only provide baked goods such as muffins. I wanted food, not sweets. The only nice thing was the decor. Anyways, the entire experience was very disappointing, unfortunately will not return.
EDIT: Thanks for your reply! I'd like to clarify that I did not arrive when the shop was closing. But I must have arrived right when food service ended, although I don't remember seeing a food menu anywhere I could have missed it. It would have been nice if they communicated the policy with some context. It could all at least be communicated kindly. It was even the holiday season. Also even if I did arrive at 4:45pm close to closing time, then I don't need to be asked if I'm staying or going. Anyways, seems that most people have a good experience here seeing the other reviews. Wish we could've had that...
Read moreWent here after hearing good things… I’ll start by saying the atmosphere is really cute, it was way too warm inside so we decided to sit outside since it was a cool day. The outside area is nice but they definitely need to get umbrella stands as the umbrella through the center of the picnic table kept falling over and almost hitting us. The server actually saw the umbrella fall and asked one of the other staff members to come out and push the end of it into the ground to prevent it from falling again but that is a temporary fix. The ham, egg and cheese sandwich was good but it was said to be served with a side of fruit. I’m attaching a picture of the “side” of fruit given, it was more like an accent on the plate because it was 5 blueberries, one sliver of an orange and one sliver of a piece of strawberry. The picture of the fruit is when the fruit wasn’t even touched yet, that’s how they served it to me. The prices are way overpriced and I’m used to spending money at fancy cafes and have accepted that prices have gone up but $12 for a small breakfast sandwich that doesn’t even come with a proper side is pricey. It should be around $7/8. There other menu items were pricey too, $5 for a bagel, $16 for an avocado egg sandwich, $6 for a side of two scrambled eggs for my toddler, etc. I spent $30 on one cookie, one latte, a side of eggs, one small breakfast sandwich. The oatmeal raisin cookie was way too sweet and I wouldn’t get it again. The coffee was good but small, the latte I got was one size. Overall I would say I would only go back...
