JV Hot Bagels — Restaurant in Town of Yorktown

The taste of the food is so mid. But whatever that’s not what I wanna focus on. I’ve been there twice because my mom’s husband loves the place but both of the times our order has been messed up. It’s always just tiny details that get missed. The first time, I ordered a bfast sandwich with salt pepper ketchup and hot sauce. The bagel ended up having NONE of those. Along with that, I asked for cheese and it did not have cheese. This time I went I asked for a bagel sandwich with hash brown in it and it did not have it. I realized the woman who took our order did not write it down. I decided to trust her to remember but honestly we’re all human and we forget little things like that sometimes. The simple and VERY EASY solution to this is to WRITE IT DOWN. it’s not that hard really and takes no time. I suggest having employees write down all orders so this doesn’t happen again. Oh come on! If you’ve ever come here you know that people line up outside the door for this fabulous place started by two really great guys, Dennis and Phil, who take personal pride on a daily basis. Valeria and her staff are always behind the counter politely and tirelessly serving the throngs of people who show up here looking for great bagels, delicious coffee and so much more. A display of original comic book art by golden-age artist and award winner Mort Meskin, enlarged to poster size, has been a happy feature of the dining room for over a decade. (Look for hidden jokes and staff mentioned in each comic book poster.) First off, service was excellent -- the only reason I'm giving 3 stars. However, I just ordered an iced coffee and a bagel with cream cheese, and it was definitely not up to par. How can you offer iced coffee with no liquid sugar syrup?! Why would I want to put granulated sugar in my cold drink? It doesn't melt and it just falls to the bottom. Please... you advertise like crazy that you have iced coffees. Not everyone wants black coffee. It is a given you provide a simple syrup when you offer iced coffee. Secondly, we got a cinnamon raisin bagel and it tasted so bland. Do you salt your dough at all? Or the place you get your bagels?
