Hill Blvd Diner — Restaurant in Town of Yorktown

Terrible food. I had a feeling when I first walked in as there was only 1 table occupied at 6pm. My bacon cheese burger was some awful overcooked hockey puck. The bacon was good. The lettuce and tomato was okay as well but the burger was god awful. I ordered my kids a cheeseburger plain and again the burger was awful. My wife ordered a chicken sandwich which she threw straight in the garbage after 1 bite. The cheesecake was okay probably because it was brought in from somewhere else. The fries were below average. Overall We ate a few fries and the cheesecake and threw the rest in the garbage. Would have been better off getting 3 Whoppers and fries from Burger King. Another thing that was off was how the lady putting the to-go order together asked me if I wanted the pickles and cole slaw that came with our food. Like what!!! Of course we want it. Also we want forks ketchup and whatnot that was not packed in our take out bag.

We stopped as a convenient meal option near the Taconic. The reviews seemed good, but we wouldn’t go there again. Service was very sweet and friendly, but very slow. We ordered kid’s Mac and cheese, my kid liked it, and said it tasted just like the box kind. I ordered the soup and half a sandwich.

I’d wanted a wrap sandwich, but it hey didn’t include that in the soup and half sandwich combo, so I ordered a sandwich I wasn’t as interested in.

Ended up getting soup and full sandwich and charged like that. Should have just gone with the wrap I wanted. Not sure if it was just bad communication skills. Fries were pretty bad- a mix of crinkle and straight, half of them way too dark, so my kiddo who’d wanted fries and chicken noodle soup ended up not eating anything, as they were out of the soup. I think my husband was happy with his burger.

Not enough silverware for the table, had to request napkins, and it took us a while to manage to pay. No idea if an off day with not enough staff, or if this is common, but we wouldn’t risk it again. Particularly not if we’re trying to have...

Food was great, can't complain there. We, party of 3, tried different wraps. Everyone loved them and the fries came out hot & crispy. Would go back for the food. According to most reviews the service here is always fantastic but on the day we went at 1:30pm the service was extremely slow. From the time we sat down, to placing our order, to getting the food took over 45 minutes. I do NOT blame the waitress, there was only one. She was doing a great job trying to service all the tables, check each table after food was delivered, bus the tables, bring boxes for take home and deliver the checks. We joked that maybe she was cooking too. At one point there was over 35 people there. I'm not sure who the hostess was but she stayed behind the bar, flipping a paper and watching TV.
