Was looking for a place to study and found this place near my child's daycare so decided to try it out! I gave atmosphere 4/5 stars just because it can get a bit loud in there but it was beautiful inside and had nice music playing when you could hear it haha. For parking there was none behind the building and I have rarely been to downtown TR so when I saw a sign posted on the back of the green garbage thing saying where to park with just a name I was a bit confused BUT it is literally behind the coffee shop. You drive past the parking behind the building (where the laundry mat is) and past a few homes and you'll see a park on your left and that's the extra parking. It's at most 3-5 min walk to get to the building from there. It was an interesting idea that you'd have to order outside where the yellow beetle van is instead of inside. It wasn't too cold that morning I went but felt a bit bad for the person sitting outside taking orders XD I ordered the tiramisu crepe and I got a cappuccino with one shot and added vanilla and mocha to it. I was offered the option of inside or outdoor seating (which was heated too) but I chose inside. They tell you what table to sit at and you head in. I didn't catch a glimpse of the outdoor seating to see if there were bigger tables but where I sat inside was a long bench with small tables for 2 with one chair on the opposite side. It was a smidge cramped next to people if they have bags on the booth/would need to scoot your chair back a bit so you didn't bump into the person next to you but the locations a bit small in general so wasn't too terrible. It was hard to have my study material out and the food on the table but I made due since I did not bring a laptop with me for this adventure. I believe there were a few 4 seater tables and a island with tall chairs too that may provide more space. The food was so delicious! I enjoyed that the coffee taste in the tiramisu was not too strong but it was 10/10 ill probably get it again when I go back! I'm not the best at providing reviews on coffee since I'm fairly new in figuring out what I liked but the cappuccino definitely had that strong coffee taste, I didn't taste too much mocha but for people that want the coffee bitter and not super sugary I think it's a good fit. The staff inside were very attentive and kind. Continuously rounding on everyone and brought out drinks and food super quick! (I went around 8:40-9a and there was a small amount of people there that was growing to medium amount closer to 10a) I really enjoyed they bring a thing of water and a glass you can refill on your own at the table that was a surprising extra that I enjoyed. Overall a cute place to meet up with friends or family but if you have a group of more than 4 you will be spaced out a bit from everyone most likely. Service is fast and food/drinks are...
Read moreAs a local, I used to be a big Tandem fan, since I have been coming for the last 8-10 years. Recently, I was very excited to come in, after it being awhile since my last visit. Unfortunately though, I will not be returning. I’ve never been fond of them switching over to the outdoor bus ordering system. I understand needing an efficient system, but it’s unreasonable to make customers wait in a long line outside to order in very cold (or in summer, very hot) temps, and then also take away the customer’s ability to choose their own table - since you are assigned one. Very odd for a coffee shop setting. However, I can get past that. What I can’t get past, though, was the rude service once we were inside. My friend and I each ordered a latte and a crepe. After finishing our crepes, we wanted to work on the projects that we planned on doing - this was the whole point of our coffee shop excursion. Since the table we were assigned to was quite small, we didn’t have enough room to pull out our laptops without freeing up space. I stacked our crepe plates together and started walking over towards the counter with them, where I saw a pile of other dirty dishes. I didn’t want to assume though, so to be polite, I asked a passing employee if it was okay for me to leave them there. She looked shocked that I asked her this, and she responded, “Can’t you just leave them at your table?” I kindly agreed, but was baffled by her reaction. She later came and collected them from our table. After doing so, we finally pulled out our laptops. Immediately - I’m talking under 10 seconds, y’all - the same employee came back over to us and told us we could not stay and use our laptops at the table, and made us move to bar seating in a different area of the shop… Baffled, yet again. And mind you, we had only been at our table for about 15 minutes at this point. We were not there for an excessive amount of time by any means. But we humbly agreed and moved to this extremely cramped and uncomfortable bar seating, where the counter surface wasn’t even big enough for us to fully open our laptop screens. Once again, I understand having a system in place for an establishment… but not when it is an unwelcoming provision towards your paying guests, and your employees so rudely deliver the message. There were absolutely no signs at our tables or along the walls where we sat that stated we were not allowed to sit & use laptops after giving them our business. If this is a policy, make it clear. Otherwise, make sure your employees are kindly interacting with guests when informing them. With mediocre food, incredible unfriendliness, and inhospitable policies, I am so disappointed in the road this shop has taken. I have met fast food restaurants with higher standards and friendlier employees. I will not be returning to Tandem, nor recommending...

So let's start off this review of the staff. The cashier was friendly and took our orders with a smile. The servers who brought out our food and drinks were pleasant.
As for the setting/ambiance of the place, I really liked it. The main dining area is spacious, light, and airy. You don't feel like a sardine squeezed into a tin can! We sat in the heated porch area, though, because I had wanted to.
We tried different crepes. The lumberjack crepes were a little dry compared to the chicken and mushrooms. I would recommend the chicken and mushroom crepes if you are looking for a savory crepe. If you like sweet crepes, I would recommend the lemon sugar crepes over the banana nut crepes. The lemon sugar with the whipped cream and lemon zest was delicious. The banana nut crepe was good as well, but it had too much Nutella. However, if you love Nutella, then get that.
The lattes we had were good enough to quench our thirst, but it's nothing out of the ordinary.
Overall, I would go back again for the lemon sugar crepes and chicken and mushrooms crepes as well as the inviting interior of...
