Our experience was very mixed. We held a small rehearsal dinner for my daughter and her girlfriend. We had Max and Nancy who were fantastic servers. We had requested a single table for 15 people that the restaurant set up as 2 separate tables although they had agreed to one. The food was slow to come out and was cold. We let one of the servers know this. They sent me a survey afterwards which I responded to. I was honest in my answers but not damaging. I commented on the coldness of the food and the fact that they gave us a room where they kept booths open which were separated by a room divider. Let me be clear that we.never asked for a refund or discount. In fact, they offered us a $25 gift card for a positive review which we declined. Once they received the survey, the restaurant manager, a woman by the name of Angela, sent a response email to the owners stating that we had been difficult, that it was a "lesbian event" and that we had come in early in the morning to order their staff to rearrange furniture. All of which was untrue. Yes, my daughter was marrying a girl, but we had no pride flags up, or people in biker leather or drag It was 11 young adults in the bridal party and 2 sets of parents. No one got drunk or caused a scene. It was a family dinner. Angela however, sent the email to me in error, instead of her boss. I refuted her accusations in a response email. 2 days later she wrote me an apology which I didn't accept. The only reason she apologized.was because she was caught. She also stated that she used unprofessional language in her email because clients didn't see those emails. In her apology she stated they had several LGBTQ+ staff members including herself, which just makes me wonder about how these individuals are being treated if they're so blatantly confortable slamming the hands that feed them. The owners were very professional and wanted to avoid any issues, which I understand. Unfortunately, as the mother of 2 LGBTQ+ kids I need to make sure you know what you're getting into when you come here. The decor is great. The servers were amazing. We even left them an extra tip which Angela questioned even when we had explained that the servers had done what they could. We will.not be eating here ever again. It may be a nice place for locals, but those of us with more diverse families can probably find a better place to...
Read moreIt’s not very often that you witness a five star experience on both the service and the food, but obviously Will’s and Biil’s places an extremely high priority on both! From the moment we were greeted at the hostess station until we left, we were left with the profound impression that our business was important and highly valued.
We were celebrating our daughter’s birthday, and since we’ve never had a negative experience at any restaurant they’ve chosen we figured this would be another no-brainer. Correct again Steve-O!
We began with an order of Truffle Fries and Bill’s Nachos to share for our party of five. For the starters I really didn’t look beyond the item description. To say I was pleasantly surprised would be a complete understatement. The nachos could have been a complete meal not just for one person, but probably two. Had I bothered to read the description I would have seen that the nachos were stuffed with braised short ribs and believe me, the taste was fantastic! The fries were really good as well and we had to put up the stop sign for our two-year-old grandson because he would have filled his belly just on the fries!
The ladies ordered the roast beef dip and the salmon bowl which were both exceptional. My son-in-law and I gorged ourselves on the nachos and deciding that discretion was the better part of valor, we just decided to split a chicken cheesesteak.
Our meals were not only tasty, but the presentation was impeccable.
Our server Corrine has a great perception on when to stop by the table and check up on us. We didn’t feel that we were rushed, and certainly did not feel we were neglected. It was especially pleasing that when members of the staff went by they took the time to say hello to our grandson, who not surprisingly seems to be turning into a little social butterfly!
Will’s and Bill’s was a phenomenal experience and is highly recommended for anything from casual dining to celebrating your...
Read moreDuring a business trip in Philadelphia, my colleagues and I had a group dinner at Will’s & Bill’s Brewery. We made a reservation, so we were seated right away upon arrival.
There were about twelve of us in attendance. We had one server who did a decent job getting our drinks, appetizers, and entrées out to us in a timely manner. We ordered quite a spread of different items.
The staff and our server were professional and courteous. The ambience was nice and welcoming to large groups. We were comfortable in our space and were able to enjoy the camaraderie while we ate our food.
The food was hit and miss for some of the entrées. The barbecue wings were not as tender and moist but external flavor was okay. The spicy wings were better and more tender. The risotto entrée was just okay; it was like overcooked rice. I loved the spices but it wasn’t as flavorful as expected. The fish was really good; it was very moist and practically dissolved in my mouth. The clams were a little too chewy. The scallops were good. The shrimp was overcooked and a bit tough.
One colleague had the Shakespeare’s pie and said it was very rich and tasty; the short ribs melted in her mouth. Another colleague had Sea Scallops Ravioli. She said the filling was tasty but the ravioli was not Al dente as how she liked it, but the scallops were cooked perfectly.
I was not impressed with the dishes that I had. I was especially disappointed in the risotto entrée as I was really looking forward to a wonderfully executed and flavorful dish.
Overall, collectively, we enjoyed our visit at this restaurant. It had a good atmosphere, and we had a great time...
