Place looks nice inside, our waitress was great, but the food was mediocre. This place nickel and dimes you terribly. No complimentary chips and salsa like every single Mexican restaurant within a 50 mile radius, it’ll cost ya $3-4 here. We started with queso and chips for $8, queso was plastic from either sitting out too long or inferior ingredients. My wife ordered the barria tacos, you get 3 and nothing else for $13, she couldn’t even pick them up without them falling to pieces. I ordered the steak fajitas (cheese, sour cream, guac not included, extra charge ranging from $1 to $1.25 for each tiny container) I was actually surprised when I received more steak than veggies in this, until I took a bite into the beef jerky they call steak. Horribly overcooked, dry and flavorless. I left 75% of the steak on the plate, the waitress asked if I was done and I said yes, steak was horrible. She gave me a look like “I know” and said she’ll speak to the cooks. We each ordered a drink, wife with the coconut margarita which she said was just ok, my brown sugar old fashioned was great!
For as many Mexican restaurants as there is downriver, food like this will not last. I know we won’t be coming back.
Update to the restaurants response since this page doesn’t allow for reply’s.:
You, at no point offered to remake the fajitas. Please don’t lie. The only time you came to the table was when my entire party was putting our jackets on to leave as we were waiting for our bills to come back. All you said to me was “I’m sorry the steak was overdone, I’ll speak to the cooks” that was it. Even if you did offer to remake them, which you DID NOT, I would have refused as we were standing up to put our jackets on to leave. Again, please don’t lie. Take all the negative reviews you have on here and make your place better.
The simple fact you just lied and said you offered to remake them, stamps in concrete I will never return. Nothing worse than a business who cannot accept a poor review and in turn,...
Read moreWe have been here a few times now, and I have to say that we have never been disappointed with the food! The food is always fantastic, and the flavors are incredible. The last time I went, I ordered the nachos, and trust me, you can share them with another person! This time, I ordered the Mexican Pizza, and to say that I was blown away when it was brought to the table is an understatement! This is absolutely a dish you can share. The pictures do not do the size justice. Put it this way, underneath it, and what you do not see is the round pizza grate that you would put a full pizza on to cook, and then they set it on a pizza tray! This was SOOOOOOO good! I had to force myself to stop eating because I was so full I thought I would burst, but I just wanted to keep tasting the flavors. The only thing I will do differently next time is order sour cream with it. This is one of those opportunities that the waitstaff has to upsell a dish. If you order this, for sure ask for sour cream. We also ordered the Chorizo Dip, and I have to say that we polished that off so fast that I forgot to take a photo! I highly recommend this for an appetizer. I always read reviews before we eat somewhere, and I noticed that there are a few comments on the service. I gave Service 5 stars because everyone has bad days, and the other girls should not suffer for one or two slow/bad ones. I admit that it's been hit or miss with the service. The four times we were there, three times we had great service, and once we did not. I refuse to judge a meal or establishment from one visit. I always give it three visits to really get a feel for it. I am so happy this place has made our list of...
Read moreThe service here was the worst I’ve had in years. Not once did a waitress or waiter stop and ask if we needed anything. The host took our drink order & brought over chips and salsa. He again returned later with our drinks. After waiting for 10 or so minutes I had to call the host over again to take our order. He took the order but did not wait for me to finish adding a protein to it. He left w/o asking if that was all. Our food came w/in a reasonable amount of time. I ordered the portobello fajitas w/a side of guacamole. Everything looked great but the host did not bring me a plate for me to eat off of. I did ask him when he delivered the food, he was a busy man. I ended up grabbing a plate off a buffet table. I wanted more tortillas and had to walk up to the bar and order some from the host. When he came back w/them I asked for a box and the bill. The waitresses never once looked our way. We were seated w/another cpl at a picnic table. A waitress finally came over to their side of the table and asked them if they needed anything. She did not come to our side and help us at all. I really felt disrespected at that point. The food was the best part and the reason why I left 2 stars. So disappointed. I really wanted it to be a nice neighborhood experience. The issues above can be corrected and we will wait to give this place...
