I’ve ordered here a few times. My flat mate likes their General Tso’s. Unfortunately my food has been subpar. Previously I’ve had their overcooked and bland lo mein and warm sushi. Tonight I tried again with the sushi, a pick up order. I ordered the sushi combo-listed at $16 from their online menu. They allowed a substitution of yellowtail for the salmon at equivalent price but I wanted tuna(they wanted an extra $4 to sub 1 piece, and they also told me their regular price is 18 for the combo). So I place the order and arrive about 20min later to pick up. They ask for the phone number to match to the order and the girl reaches in the middle of a bunch of steaming bags on the counter, where my sushi has been sitting. I can feel that everything is warm. The miso soup that comes with the combo is in the same bag as the sushi and there has been no effort made to keep the sushi cool for freshness. As soon as I got home I put it on the top shelf of the fridge in an effort to hopefully be able to eat something that at least closely resembles fresh sushi. Then I call, not to request a refund or replacement but to suggest a way of keeping sushi cool until it reaches the customer. The manager tells me that because it’s made with hot rice it is supposed to be warm. This is where I lost my temper, explained to the manager that I’ve been eating sushi for years and had in restaurants in New York and New Jersey and never before been served warm sushi, until they served me. I also told them the sushi from Kroger was prepared better(not mentioning it’s also priced better). Then I politely thanked him for his time and wished him a good evening. I’ve been home for 45 minutes and the sushi is barely cool to the touch, after being refrigerated during this time. I will not order...
Read moreThe man at the front desk checking out and taking orders should be removed from talking to customers. He has zero skill to be dealing with guests.. The entire process was confusing, as he was taking orders the entire time he was taking mine (I had walked in). He sat a bag down in front of me, i asked if it was mine, he nodded. …Got to my car and realized it wasn’t my order. Didn’t touch the food - I took it back inside immediately and apologized. He then proceeds to YELL AT ME, WITH OTHER CUSTOMERS AROUND, Actually REAMING me, saying… “THAT NOT YOUR ORDER, NOT YOUR MOO GOO GAI PAN -WHY YOU JUST COME UP HERE AND GRAB ANY BAG ?” I apologized again and HE KEEPS GOING ON AND ON. I’m thinking wow. Enough already. So I thru his take out bag down on the counter in front of him and walked out. He says “what the h—-“.
Sir -I don’t need your food; this experience took away any appetite I may have had. I’ll not return. I’ll go downtown square. Mansfield. to the classy place where they treat customers with gratitude and kindness.
Let’s assume it was my fault -even so, i didn’t come in there guns hot - his reaction was totally uncalled for. And now, after reading other reviews -I’m not shocked.
Can’t rate the food -obviously didn’t get a chance to try it —-hope he enjoyed his free egg roll and moo goo. That’s another thing… When i walked in he was eating rice behind the sushi counter. This is a “no” in my opinion. Eat in the back room, not in front of customers. Oh -and i was to leave a tip for this “ happy house”...
Read moreA business that is obviously doing so well that it isn't in need of my money or my positive feed back , since when I called to ask if they offered delivery I received a very sorry "No. We do not." And then was immediately hung up on. Congrats to them for doing so well.
My original post was a year ago. So, I decided to give this restaurant another try. This time I walked in and was greeted by a very grumpy middle aged man wearing a dirty, black, wool beanie. I looked over the menu, decided what I wanted, placed my order and paid. After a relatively short wait I received my food and went home. I ordered General Tso's chicken, which is supposed to be a spicy dish, what I got tasted more like Orange chicken and was extremely bland at that and not a single dried red chilli pepper in the whole dish. What kind of General Tso's chicken is that? Two pork egg rolls, I received 2 vegetable rolls. So, I was charged more than I should have been and they were also pretty tasteless. Lastly, I ordered fried noodles as a substitute for the white rice that typically comes with the meal and received fried rice instead. After giving it a go I found myself not interested in finishing that at all. I'd recommend another place other than this one for anyone looking for decent Chinese food but as of yet I haven't found one in this area that can actually pull off decent Chinese food. The best thing about this whole experience is that I only paid $15...
