Breakaway is the best place to go for awesome tasty sandwiches & soup/chilli. All the sandwiches I've tried have been great but the Turkey Favorite is my go to sandwich. The people who turned me on to this place feel the same about their sandwiches. There are a ton of places to go in Metro Detroit but Breakaway Deli is my favorite. I used to work in Troy from 2004 to 2008 & I went there often for lunch. It's now 2023 & I live in Holly & still go there whenever I'm out that way which is still often. They are still fantastic & haven't changed at all & prices are extremely reasonable & actually much less than other deli places.

Their daily specials are an awesome deal that included the sandwich of the day, chips, 16oz drink & cookie for under $11. They also have different soups each day & all are great. I'm a foodie & love deli sandwiches & soup. I've tried places from Grand Blanc, Fenton, Holly, Clarkston, Waterford, Pontiac, Auburn Hills, Rochester, Rochester Hills, Royal Oak, Shelby Twp, Clinton Twp & Southfield and I'm sure a bunch of other places and have yet to find any place that comes close to Breakaway sandwiches especially the Turkey Favorite. They are the best! It's all about the quality of deli meat, the coleslaw & of course the Russian dressing for the Turkey Reuben and so far nobody beats it. My son made an order by phone today from Breakaway Deli. I was sitting near him hearing the order and clearly he requested the veggie wrap with wheat bread, toasted, and extra coleslaw. Whoever took our order messed it up big time. The sandwich was onion bun, no cheese, and not toasted! My sandwich was literally lettuce and tomatoes! I called to complain and whoever answered me was very rude and careless about the whole situation. He kept interrupting me and raising his voice and wasn't really interested in hearing what happened!! He kept blaming my son for giving the wrong information even though I was near him and heard what he ordered! He lied and was unprofessional and rude! Before I hanged up I heard him bad mouthing me to someone near him! So take my advice customers, if Breakaway deli mess up your order don’t dare to complain because they will blame you and bad mouth you! Wow! Bravo Breakaway Deli you just lost a regular customer! When I started working in Troy I learned of this deli and its greatness. I highly recommend checking this place out. My go to sandwich is the chipotle turkey which is listed on the daily specials menu and not the regular menu. They offer GF bread which is also pretty great. You can choose three different sizes in the sandwich- big, bigger, biggest. Everything I have tried so far has been delicious, and I am convinced they have the best egg salad I've ever had which you can order a side of in a few different sizes. Keep in mind that sandwiches which are grilled take a little longer to make, but you can order online before you head there so it is ready when you arrive.
