July 28, 2019 was their soft opening. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make it, but did get to check it out on August 4, 2019. I found this new opening on Instagram.
When I walked in, I was greeted by everyone working there. Nowadays, it's rare to see that kinda atmosphere. But the owner's mission is to bring back that kinda scene from before where everyone meets up at a small coffee shop and focus on the people instead of their phones.
Since I have already seen the menu from an Instagram story, I knew I wanted to try the affogato as well as a croissant sandwich. Usually, I only order a couple of items just to see how things taste before I order more. I was soo impressed how the croissant tasted as well as how flaky it is. The side of pickled radish and carrots paired so well with the croissant sandwich. As for the affogato, usually the espresso has a bitter aftertaste, but this was soo good! Everything from this place, you can tell how fresh the ingredients are. We had to try more, so we ordered the avocado toast with tomato and basil. Although, I think the sourdough could be toasted a little longer for the crunch, but it was still very good. Did also get to sample the chili avocado toast well! The chili paste gave it a spicy kick at the end.
I got to meet the owner too. Her name is Marizza and she's super nice. Got to chat up a bit of why she opened this shop as well as her mission and goals. I did notice that she checked up with her customers to how they were doing! Marizza definitely have a good crew. I also got to meet Jon, the barista. Ingrid also showed me the vinyl music player.
I found my new favorite place. I suggest everyone check this place out. You won't be disappointed. I'll definitely be taking my friends here for a visit. Also, I do wanna try their tea blends as well as...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOVERCHARGED I really hate writing this as I truly did enjoy this shop. However, after the first two visits I was getting overcharged EVERY time. I finally decided to look at my transactions when I was charged $11 for ONE oat milk latte.... Having said that, I reached out to the cafe just to be gaslight by the person running the account. After providing PROOF for this transaction, they tried to lie and say I was never there pretty much... After realizing theyāre incorrect I get a series of messages apologizing JUST for them to go back on their word at the end, WHEN I SAID I WILL UPDATE THIS REVIEW, they almost tried to āscareā me into not. Obviously, you guys have the right to reply, so why say that unless itās meant to try and get me to back off from writing one. (Interested to see the reply now, as I will also reply to) Again, I offered multiple times to show the other receipts but after showing one CLEARLY this was going nowhere so Iām just writing this to warn people going there. PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR RECEIPTS.
EDIT IN RESPONSE TO REPLY: Again, I DID OFFER MULTIPLE TIMES TO SHOW RECEIPTS. I sent you guys a bank statement with your cafe's name on it for one. I WAS LITERALLY REFUNDED THIS MORNING: "Goodmorning Miss Mande, this is Norman from cafe Immortelle.I do apologized for the over charged, it was my fault... "
To have a response like this to a review is distasteful and quite rude honestly.
They emailed today "apologizing" yet this is the type of reply you guys provide...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCame with my teen daughter. Norman (stormin Norman as he introduced himself š) was great. He seems like a genuinely happy person, which is refreshing in today's culture. He allowed us space and time to change our minds a few times, and even gave us a sample of his house-brewed tea. I love not feeling rushed when I order food/drink. My daughter chose a traverse cherry tea with Boba and simple syrup. I ordered the honey lavender cold brew. They were delicious. I love that you can customize your drink with anything they have on the menu. To be honest, once I met Norman, I had a feeling that if I asked him to order a special ingredient. He wouldn't hesitate to do it. He had a sense of humor and was very eager to ensure we loved our drinks. The atmosphere is super cute, modge podge vintage. If you have little kids who can read. I would take caution because the signage and dĆ©cor are very... colorful (which we absolutely loved- laughing is good for your soul š). All around great place (not a hidden gem, though. Place...
