China King — Restaurant in Troy

I used to eat here a lot, back when they had different owners. I have given this place chance after chance. I will go a year or two without trying their food (if I want Chinese food I normally drive 15 minutes to Biscoe and eat at China 8). But I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, since someone wrote a review saying 'they have new owners' 4 months ago.... They DO NOT HAVE NEW OWNERS. The same two people have been running this store for the past 10+ years.

My most recent experience was with their buffet and the food was room temperature plus most of the food was gone and they never replenished it while I was in there (they were not busy at all and only had one other customer).

The egg rolls were GREY on the inside and the crab rangoons have NO filling. (this has been the case every time I have eaten there over the past several years).

The Teriyaki chicken was decent, but that's the only thing I enjoyed about...

Got food to go, waited 10 mins for food to get ready not a big deal. The Big deal of it was when we started eating. the sesame chicken was inedible so i went without supper rather then eat it. Chicken had a odd slimy texture. the egg rolls all tasted extremely old and freezer burnt(dog would even eat it). my wife got the moo goo gai pan and said the chicken just tasted bland and old, whole dish was plain. my kids had the sweet and sour chicken where the sauce was like a sugar syrup and the chicken was freezer burnt and very old tasting. In the end everyone that ate the food ended up with severe stomach aches later that night. I will not go back. I hate leaving bad reviews but it is a disgrace when companies think they can serve bad food to people while taking...

I've been eating here sense I was a teenager and I always eat from the menu decent prices and good food. However I tried the buffet it was not worth it at all, l so I seriously recommend that you stay away from the buffet and opt for the menu. It's for that reason and the fact they still after all this year still will only accept cash or checks. If they would start accepting debt and credit cards, I honestly think that there business would make more money. I usually do take out but they really need to update the place it's the exact same as it when it opened. Many people walk away cause they don't...
