I went to Eddie V's in Orlando and had an amazing experience with my wife, so we thought we'd give the one by our house a try. First things first, service and atmosphere were incredible. Food was okay expected a little better for the price. We ordered the seafood tower, beef tar tar, and a steak. Nothing wrong with any of those, but they were just okay. Now to the horrible part, it was my birthday so my wife ordered 2 desserts to the table. One of them being some type of berry cheesecake or ice cream, it was delicious until we noticed a worm crawling it's way out of one of the raspberry s. Gross, I know, but my wife and I are reasonable people and didn't want to make a huge scene in front of the other guest. We notified our waiter and showed him.. he immediately took it away, and the manager came over to apologize and let us know that he would be taking that one dessert off the bill. That's it! Did not check to see if we needed another drink or anything. Of course, you're taking my worm berry cream off the bill, and being it was a birthday celebration and our tab with drinks and dinner was already at $350 without dessert and places like that usually comp dessert for special occasions anyway. We wanted nothing for free but just to feel as if they cared. Now we cashed out and tipped our waiter very well because now my wife was fuming and let everyone around us know what a A hole the manager was about it and what we found in our dessert. 10 minutes into our drive they call us and comp our whole bill which was nice and way to much, a simple drink would have sufficed but the only reason they did that was because on the way out my wife looked at the manager and said how unhappy we were with him and that her husband(me) is a avid Google reviewer. My mother had the absolute BEST experience here tonight and I was so touched by the care she received from the entire staff. When she arrived as a solo diner the host offered her a seat at the bar and she asked if there was any chance that even though she was alone she could have a private table. She explained that her husband passed away about two years ago and she is still adjusting to life without her best friend by her side. They were so kind and brought her to the perfect table with an outstanding waiter who gave her extraordinary service all night. The manager came by to give their condolences and asked my mother what my dad would have ordered to drink if he was with her tonight. My mom responded with a 7&7 and the manager brought one over, placed it on the table setting in front of her, and said that it was so she could feel his presence with her tonight. I teared up hearing that part of the story! What a wonderful gesture- this manager went above and beyond. When she left, the valet addressed her by her name instead of just "ma'am" which felt like a nice personal touch. From beginning to end, this business made my mom feel so special during a very sad period in our lives. She's not one to go online and write reviews of places but I had to jump on here to spread the word and to thank the staff from the bottom of my heart. Aside from the stellar service, my mom raved about all the food she ate. She said it was the best scallop dinner she's ever had, cooked perfectly. The lobster mashed potatoes was her next favorite. She also enjoyed her cocktail and now wants to try and find butterfly pea tincture to play around with in her own cocktails at home.
