I just want to start off by saying this. I like to go through the comments before I make mine. I'm a comment creeper at heart, even on YouTube lol. I've been to this location a million times over the years from 2010 to 2017 bc I lived less than 10m from there. I've never had a bad experience in that mall or CPK. It's crazy how people give bad ratings on a restaurant and it isnt mostly based on the food you ordered.
So a guy takes your childs jacket off the seat he's sitting in but you blame the restaurant bc they didnt see it or because a Mall restaurant doesn't actually have cameras in the restaurant that's located inside of a MALL. Just maybe it was bc YOU weren't paying enough attention to your surroundings. If they took your child would you have noticed that? Be mindful of what's going on around you & your kids.
My lady left her MK bag at the food court two summers back. She didnt realize it until an hour later. She ran through the mall to the food court but the bag was gone. Someone told her to check the security booth. Long story short one of the food court cleaners had already taken it to the security booth on the 3rd fl during their table cleaning sweeps around the food court. The bag still had all money and cards in it when she got her bag back. If she didnt get the purse back we wouldn't have blasted them on Google for not getting the bag back. Security cant patrol everything like police cant. It was her fault that she wasnt responsible.
This CPK is my fav. In all my years I've only gotten one thing on the menu that wasnt pizza, it was the Ribeye dinner. I never got it bc I thought it was way over priced & it'll probably taste average at best. Because I've never had a better tasting Ribeye steak dinner & at a better price than Texas Roadhouse. CPK steak was cooked too dry & tasted just ok imo. Sides was just ok also. The meal was priced around $25 or $26 I think. Which was way too much for an ok steak meal. They need to carry A1 which wouldve made the steak better imo. Other than that this place is never anything less than 4 stars during my visits. The staff makes sure wait time isn't too long on Saturday bc they can get really really busy in weekends. All in All Great staff & Great CPK management...

The reason for my rating is due to the lack of security in this restaurant. The lack of staff paying closer attention to patrons entering and exiting as well.
It's an extremely busy time of year, the holidays. The holidays bring the best and worst out in everyone.
My partner was dining in with our child. Somehow our child's puffer jacket was swiped, from right behind their chair.
Management didn't seem to be concerned with assisting besides suggesting to go to 3rd floor and speak to Mall Security. Mall Security was also of no help. Apparently California Pizza Kitchen has no cameras and the one camera outside the restaurant has 2 large pillars blocking a full view of the patrons entering and exiting the establishment. Isn't that terrific news?
How a restaurant doesn't have full security for patrons is beyond unspeakable. How someone steals a toddler's puffer jacket in winter is absolutely mind blowing. What a horrible situation - to feel so violated for my child and absolutely helpless at the same time.
Between the restaurant and Mall Security no one seemed to really care. It's all very impersonal. Yeah, we will call you if anything turn's up. I am sure you will. In the mean time I will walk my toddler to the car without a jacket in the freezing cold weather.
I truly hope the owner of this location reads reviews and takes customers seriously and most importantly cares. It would be nice if one person took this situation seriously. No one did anything to console anyone in this horrible situation.
With all this being said, if you're going to dine in at Califonia Pizza Kitchen, then I suggest you do so by keeping your jacket on. If something goes missing the staff will be too busy to notice anything peculiar and they have no cameras inside or outside of this location.
I would also like to add.. in addition to all of this I personally posted several photos of the missing puffer jacket. Since then my images have been deleted/removed. I'm confused as to how they can be deleted/removed. And why there was zero follow up since the incident 10 days ago, by California Pizza Kitchen and or Somerset...
Read moreI just had the absolute worst experience at the Somerset Collection location. I am horrendously appalled. I decided to come to the location in order to enjoy my birthday dinner with my mom and my fiance. The meals were well done, service was semi prompt, but understandable for a dinner rush. The horrible experience comes into play during payment for the meals. We were given the bill after most plates were cleaned, and after an inquiry into dessert. Payment is offered in form of a card. Receipts are given to be signed, and it is noticed that my card was not returned to me. I, and my companions immediately went looking for it, and triple checked everything, but it's nowhere to be found. Upon heading straight to the host station to inform them of the goings on, I am told that I have to wait until the server returns as the host doesn't know what to do. Host then sees server and explains that I need to speak with them and they come my way. I immediately inform them that I don't have my card, to which they were initially confused, but went in search. The server checks the register, and then moves to the back of the restaurant to continue searching. As I waited, my fiance stated that he will phone the authorities if my card wasn't found, and would be demanding compensation for the issue.I see the server speak to the manager on the situation and wait for a response. The server eventually returns to let me know that the manager was in possession of my card.(WHY?) According to the server, the manager was too preoccupied with nonsense instead of listening to the issue at hand until the server clarified that I was demanding the return of my card. At that moment, just as authorities were to be called, my card was returned to me. I have never had this happen to me in any establishment, nor will I ever allow a repeat to occur. I am absolutely mystified at how a patron's card is removed from a POS and in possession of management as well as it initially been pulled from the back room. (How did it get in...
