I love hibachi and have been a loyal customer since this place opened in Troy a few years ago and have ordered multiple times via DoorDash but I will no longer support due to the rude treatment I received tonight. I was under the impression they closed at 10 pm, however they close at 9 pm and I walked in about 10 minutes to closing and was refused service. It would have helped to not have the door unlocked and the Open sign lit up. I truly hope this was not racially motivated and someone else who looks different from me would have been served in this same situation, but I will definitely take my business elsewhere moving forward. Very disappointed, but lesson learned.

After leaving my initial review expressing disappointment about being refused service shortly before closing (with the “Open” sign still lit and the door unlocked), the owner responded not with professionalism, but with an aggressive, all-caps message full of grammatical errors and hostility.

Rather than acknowledging a loyal customer’s feedback, they chose to double down with lines like:

“STOP BRINGING ABOUT DIFFERENT RACE” “CHECK THEIR PAGES OR GIVE THEM A CALL BEFORE YOU BLAME BUSSINESSES”

I never accused anyone — I said I hoped it wasn’t racially motivated, because as a Black woman in a predominantly white town, these thoughts aren’t far-fetched. Instead of reassuring me or clarifying kindly, they dismissed my concern entirely.

This response speaks volumes about how they handle respectful feedback — especially from longtime customers. I’ve taken my business elsewhere and suggest others...

A real hidden gem in Troy which deserves to be known by more people. Came here after work and got surprised by the menu. There are just so many choices (Ramen, sushi, hibachi, traditional appetizers, dessert, and even boba tea) and the price is surprisingly cheap!!! Where you can find a filet mignon hibachi for like 20 dollars nowadays? I am really happy that the owner makes everything so affordable for everybody! The food is amazing! Start from beginning, the chicken karaage is so crispy and delicious. I think with the sauce on the side it will be the same delicious. The filet mignon hibachi is my favorite! The meat is really cooked right. Very tasty and the portion is good too! The ramen has a very impressive presentation, what surprising me more, is that it has a very clear broth with a settle taste. I really like it especially in the overall over-salty with artificial MSG food industry, this is much more healthy. The pork belly and eggs are very delicious! The sushi and roll are delicious too. The rice is pretty good. I like it! I also like when it comes with the horseradish piped in a flower shape, looks cute and tastes settle! The mochi ice cream has been decorated cute. The skin got a little bit dry but the cream on top is really perfect. The taste is really balanced. I like how owners put so many efforts into the food, just to make it taste balanced. The place is a little bit tiny but has several tables. It could be decorated more cozy I guess. But the overall dining experience are very enjoyable and I definitely will recommend this place to my other friends...

Not sure how many stars to leave or what to say about this place. I'm leaving this review as I am still waiting on my carry out order. Ordered at 4:14 the time ready was said to be 15 minutes. I didn't really think that was accurate but I also didn't think I'd still be waiting here one hour later. The place is full of people waiting on their order but only about every 15 minutes does one come out ready. I've seen two groups leave. One came in and sat down and left after not getting waited on. The other didn't make it inside the door I think because the amount of people scared them away. Not one person has said anything about the amount of time is taking or anything for that matter. Not sure I'll come back. I don't even know how the food is. Not sure I'm going to know either. This is unacceptable in my opinion. People are returning with their carry out as I write this because the order isn't theirs or they only got part of the order. So much for trying something new I guess.

Edit. Finally got my food but I'm still here waiting because they forgot the sushi on the order. And it's now 5:37....
