Was actually very disappointed in our order today. We normally get takeout from the place in Greenville, but they are closed on Tuesdays. We spent over $100 to feed the entire family and only a few things were as ordered or had good quality. We definitely expected things to be a bit better for the amount we spent.
The peanut butter chicken and egg rolls I will immediately say were delicious. Also, the Chicken Teriyaki sticks were a hit with the kids, I also tried one and found them very good! They were the only few things that REALLY met standard.
We were missing an order of Peppered Steak, the Combination Platter.
The Chicken Fried Rice and the Chicken Lo Mein were terrible. The chicken itself had no flavoring or seasoning. The Lo Mein noodles were odd, not the type we have seen from any other Asian restaurant we have frequented. The Fried Rice was very very bland, required a great deal of soy sauce, etc, to be palatable.
The Fried Wontons were very hard and barely filled. Odd folding technique that left you with 90% wrapper and hard to chew. The Rangoons were the same way. Two of our favorite items and even the kids wouldn't eat them.
The Lemon Chicken was a big disappointment. The sauce tasted like lemon cleaner, had a very odd aftertaste and was watery. The chicken was not as described. I received only a dish of the breaded chicken you usually see with S&S Chicken, none of the broccoli, tomato, or pineapple as described on the menu. One of my favorite dishes that I have had in multiple places and this was terrible.
We order Americanized Asian cuisine frequently and in large quantity when doing so. We are familiar with what certain dishes should taste like. It was very disappointing to drive half an hour and spend what we did and then get home and have so many different issues. I guess we won't be getting Asian food on...

Read moreI went there 7-02-18 for lunch at around 11:45 am to meet a colleague for lunch. This is a remodeled CHINA GARDEN that closed for some mysterious reason and reopened months later as the Golden Bowl Buffet. I do not know if this is the same management. The place has been remodeled and looks OK. Fairly clean and welcoming. The issue was the food. Although the steam tables were on and hot, the food was not. The food was fully cooked but barley warm to the touch. The inside of the food was flat out COLD. This tells me the food I was being served was more than likely left overs from the night before and not fresh. Straight from the cooler to the buffet. I brought this up to the person at checkout. She attempted to say it was the AC causing the food to be cold. Not buying it. I ate very little and had I not been there with a friend would have left the place as soon as I picked up cold food. The General Tso Chicken was mushy and weak tasting. The Pepper chicken was OK. Bad service, cold food and what appears to be a much more limited selection than the China Garden they replaced. They were not apologetic in the least, just offered excuses as they...
