Crazy AWESOME! WOW, I’m absolutely, stunned! Talk about acts of kindness!!!!! Owner and employee went totally out of their way, even called me back unexpectedly trying to help me. I was calling to see if they knew where I could purchase a jar in Truckee. Specialty item. They’re Crazy awesome!!!! They offered to MAKE it for me!!!!!! Get out!!! Then, they offered to make the Armenian lamachun bread for me!!!! Then, they unexpectedly called me back trying still trying to help me!!! I haven’t seen my Middle Eastern 90 year old dad since before last spring. I just wanted to cook for my Dad. I bought the Buttermilk fried Chicken w/ mash potatoes & coleslaw for husband & my standard Ceviche & chips for me. I swiped one of my husbands fried chicken. Fortunately you get 3 nice sized pieces. I don’t like fried chicken. This stuff is to die for!!! They asked me if I wanted white or dark meat & got all white. Let me repeat OMG. I love the Ceviche & will keep getting it but the chicken is going to have to come home w/ me every time too. My husband is a real basic man & I thought the breading might be too gourmet for him. After experiencing an incredibly rude interaction by the owners of the nearby Smokey’s place, I decided to walk over to the Truckee Food Shop and grab a roasted half chicken with vegetables and Caesar salad. The owner was probably the most pleasant person I’ve dealt with in a very long time. And the food was great! I went on my home to Sacramento area but stopped at the lookout on the old Donner Summit Road. I enjoyed my meal with the wonderful scenery in front of me.
