Service was fine atmosphere was alright. But food was terrible and extremely overpriced. I ordered a plate with chicken beans and rice. The beans tasted very stale. I think a can of beans would have had more flavor. The ammount of chicken was probably less then a 1/3 of a pound and it was very dry and tasted as if it had no seasoning or flavor. The rice was not to good either. there is a taco bell around the block and it tasted more authentic then this restaurant. I feel like I got scammed for paying 19$ for a plate of such awfully dry and flavorless food. I went here over a week ago but I couldn’t stop thinking about how annoying my visit there was. I remembered this place from when I lived there 15 years ago so my husband and I stopped in. It was amazing! The best jalapeno poppers we've ever had! I got Alfonso's Special and it was huge!!! I was only able to eat half of it! My husband for a pork dish that he said was perfect!! We were so full and happy when we left! We ordered flan to go and it was so good!! The waiter was very kind and attentive, even while he was serving other tables and the chip and water kid was on his game!!! My husband ordered a margarita and said it tasted great as well!! We came on a busy night and there were a number of large parties dining. Every chair in the dining room was occupied. The kitchen was backed up, and the service was very slow. I think we waited 40 minutes at our table to even be greeted by the waiter. Had to ask multiple times for basic things like a fork, and a glass of water. It was over an hour from our arrival time to when our appetizer came out. They were clearly over extended this time. Previous visits were not slow at all. So pro tip: if you walk in to be seated and there are no tables available, it might take a really long time...
