I recently had the pleasure of dining at Durbar , an exquisite Indian-Nepali restaurant that left me completely enchanted and utterly satisfied. From the moment I entered, I could sense the captivating ambiance that transported me to the vibrant streets of India and Nepal

I had to visit Reynoldsburg and stay there for 6 months for my personal work. I did my lunch and dinner at this place every-time, so I can help with a detailed review.

Food: The food reminded me of India, Nepal and all the Indo-subcontinents. On the first day I had very spicy food so I called up the server and he explained me that the spice levels can be adjusted while ordering. If you visit the place, make sure to adjust your spice levels. Best food: paneer tikka masala and naan If you are very hungry: Thaali set with your choice of meat. (The best part is the plate is full of mouthwatering side dishes)

Bar: Dur-Bar has a wonderful variety of liquors ranging from beer, wine and hard ones. The Bartender seems to know what he is making, and it is perfectly made. They serve a lot of cocktails and mocktails. Getting tipsy feels wonderful with some sports playing in the display. And if you are lucky, you can have some good conversations with the bartender, he is a fun person to talk with (:wink) Best cocktail: Night in Thamel (a mixture of drink served with chilly spices)- very unique and tasty

Service: As soon as you enter the Restaurant, you are greeted with a smile and escorted to a seat according to how many people are there with you. You can ask them for a specific seat if it is empty. They make sure you are comfortable with your experience at Durbar.

Atmosphere: The moment you open the door, the Aromatic scent of Biryani hits your nose and you start getting hungry from that moment. The room is well lit with warm yellow light. The paintings and artifacts from Nepal are hung all over the place. The tables are clean and well kept. A soft authentic Nepalese music gives you a sense of reaching Nepal without the hassle of getting into the plane and reach the other side of the world.

Bonus Tip: Order some Mango Lassi! It’s one of the most refreshing authentic Indian-Nepali drink you can find in the Town.

Something I wish they had: A variety of soup that would be good for appetizers and...

As you step into Durbar Nepali and Indian Cuisine, voted the best Indian restaurant in Columbus, you are immediately greeted by an ambiance that whispers the ancient and regal heritages of Nepal and India. This dining experience promises to transport you to the bustling streets of Kathmandu and the vibrant alleys of Delhi, all from the comfort of Ohio.

I started with the Chicken Sekuwa, a dish that perfectly captures the essence of traditional Himalayan barbeque. The chicken, marinated in a blend of Nepali spices and cooked to perfection in a tandoor, offers a smoky and tender taste that leaves a lasting impression. Each bite is a burst of flavors that are both unique and familiar, a testament to the chef’s authenticity and culinary prowess.

To complement my meal, I opted for the Mango Lassi. This drink, a blend of yogurt, water, spices, and mango pulp, was refreshingly sweet with a tangy twist, providing a soothing balance to the spiced chicken. The lassi was creamy, thick, and perfectly chilled, acting as an excellent palate cleanser between bites of the savory sekuwa.

Durbar’s commitment to authenticity doesn’t stop at its food; the warm hospitality and attentive service mirror the generous spirit of the cultures it represents. Each dish served at Durbar is not only a meal but a story told through spices and flavors.

In conclusion, Durbar Nepali and Indian Cuisine is a culinary gem in Columbus. Whether you’re a seasoned aficionado of South Asian cuisine or a curious foodie looking to explore new flavors, Durbar promises an unforgettable dining experience. The Chicken Sekuwa and Mango Lassi are just starters in a menu brimming with delightful surprises. This restaurant truly deserves its accolades and is a must-visit for anyone craving a taste of...

05/18/24 We finally ate in this restaurant. Very nicely decorated. The appetizers of vegetable platter and spring rolls were very well prepared and tasty. My dinner was chicken. vindaloo was very delicious and med in heat. The other two people in my party had lamb Biryni and chicken MoMo. They both said that the dishes were fantastic. We also shared Egg and chicken fried rice. The things that were wrong with this meal was the service. 2 other tables in restaurant. We had to ask for refills of our beverages. The dinner came out one at a time and the last one came out 15mins after the rest of party. Its very wrong not to bring out all dinners at one time and 15 mins is unreasonable. This was our complaint as all food was hot and delicious. 6/2023 We decided to try Durbar for the 1st time. We love eating Indian cuisine in NY, DC, and dayton. This was a very delightful experience of deliciously made Nepali and Indian foods. We had Take-out We shared the samosas appetizer with a mint sauce, which was a little spicy and a sweet Tamarind chutney. It all was perfectly paired with this dish. Dinner, we chose chicken Jhol MoMo And Chicken Vindaloo. Both were perfectly made and so very delicious. I asked for the vindaloo to be made med spicy, and they did not disappoint with the heat. We thoroughly enjoyed our first meal at Durbar, and we will be back with the rest of our Reynoldsburg family. Bravo Durbar. See you soon. Update 12/22/23 as perfect in every way again. See you soon.
