Tonight was my first time ordering Greek food from this establishment. I'm an avid customer and frequent another Greek restaurant in Whitehall, but this was closest between work and home given bad weather conditions due to snow.
I took advantage of their drive thru services. I shouldn't have to advise that I'm a new customer to be greated properly from start to finish of placing my order. I pulled up to the window and was given the order price. Still again, very dry and short with me. To put me more on edge, she wasn't wearing a mask. Proper Covid protocols obviously aren't in place or being enforced.
I was handed my small and large lemon chicken soup in a carrying tray, I glanced down and had to question whether I may have been given two small sizes instead. She says no, it's correct. When comparing them side by side, I felt cheated because they are nearly identical in size.
Fries did have some seasoning on them, but you couldn't taste the flavor from it.
My gyro with lamb meat was very dry and stale. Did not taste fresh. The tzatziki sauce tasted AND looks like the base ingredient is mayonnaise. Very bland and more of DIY style.
I received a sweet tea with lemon. The tea was faint/light almost unsweetened and the lemon packets do not taste like lemon at all.
The last unfortunate demise of my experience was the lemon chicken soup. It lacked flavor, seasoning, the chicken more so seemed boiled, was chopped and not shredded, and not seasoned to add extra flavor to the soup. Too many carrots and too broth like and very thin. The best I can explain regarding visual and taste of the soup is like canned chicken noodle soup. No lemon flavor which is the pizazz to "lemon chicken soup". No pita bread was given with the soup, only saltine crackers.
I personally know I will not return as it does not meet my expectations in Greek food quality and style that I personally prefer. Of course given the benefit of a doubt, there may be other food options that could be good and enjoyable, just atleast what I ordered was not satisfactory to my liking. Also, their customer service can definitely improve which is the heavy handed reason I'm writing this review in the first place. ( i only dealt with one person from start to finish, so everyone else could be a ray of sunshine.) I took the time out to give them a try with my hard earned money, and was disappointed. However, someone else may love it and...
Read moreIf I could give this place 10 stars, I would! My friends and I were so hungry, so I walked over to this place because it was close. Well, the chairs were on the tables so I thought for sure they were closed. The door was open though, so I went in and asked. The amazing staff went to ask who I presume is the owner. She informed me they were closed, but asked what I wanted. I told her I would just take from Greek fries, regular fries and hummus (I made the effort to pick things that were low maintenance but what do I know?). She said, “that’s easy! We will absolutely do that for you.” I was shocked. She then proceeded to go to the back and make everything herself!!! It doesn’t end there…she also gave me a free sample of a new avocado sauce they created. My take on that, by the way….the garlic sauce on the Greek fries is delicious - I couldn’t love garlic more. The avocado is also amazing. My thought is that the avocado sauce provides a smooth, fresh, almost lighter alternative, which I’m sure those who aren’t garlic’s number one fan would love. I’ll order both from now on because I can’t decide which I love more.
The unbelievable service and the amazing food (the humus was also amazing, by the way, and I was born and raised in Saudi Arabia, so I know humus) will make this place my choice for Greek every...
Read moreI saw this restaurant on DoorDash and decided to give it a try. I’ve ordered twice, notably for their delicious Greek Fries!
1st order: My order was well packaged and food was freshly cooked, as it was still hot when it arrived. I had the Chicken Kebob, Greek Fries and Carrot Cake. The Greek dressing and generous crumbles of feta on those fries are crave-worthy! The chicken was grilled perfectly and the rice was well cooked and flavorful. As for my dessert, I don’t like raisins, but know as a life-long carrot cake-lover, there’s a 50/50 chance I’ll encounter some. Not a problem, the cake was moist and had all the spice and sweetness you’d expect. It also tasted homemade - didn’t have that packaged dense feel to it.
2nd Order: I had the Regular Gyro. It was okay, but seemed a little on the dry/chewy side. My gyro meat, and pita, specifically. I may have caught them at the end of the day where food doesn’t go out as fresh. I’ll likely try again, and may add a little extra sauce, just in case.
Overall, great flavors, hot food and reasonably priced Greek fare in...
