Five Guys — Restaurant in Trussville

Ate lunch here recently, service was fast and courteous, food hot and exactly as ordered. Ate a few peanuts during the short wait. A bit pricey but food was excellent. Went for lunch here today (Saturday), ate inside. as you see plenty of fresh roasted peanuts to munch on if you have to wait. I ordered the big bacon burger, fries and drink. The burger was exactly as ordered and delicious. Spoke with Tim, a manager, I asked him how it is that most of the fast food places do not have enough help. He said they try to pay their people good and treat them fair so they stay. These are not fast food paddies that are half beef and half filler. These are the kind of burgers you want when you want a really good burger. The standard burger has two paddies so it is very filling. As you see from their sign they do not freeze their meat, it is fresh. Try these folks out, you will be glad you did. I will be going back that is for sure. The employees were great and super friendly; however, the food (especially for $25 for one person for a BLT, a little French fry, a milkshake, and a drink) was far from great. The BLT had hardly any mayonnaise on it, so I had to go get mayonnaise packets. The fries were undercooked and way, way oversalted. Both Freestyle machines were out of carbonation, so all the drinks tasted flat. I tried to get the sweet tea, but it was warm, so it tasted watery once it mixed with the ice. Everything, except the service, could've been better. It may have just been one of those days, but I was very disappointed, especially for the price I paid. Great place first time trying 5 guys. We didn't know everything was separate and didn't come as a meal so we just ordered a burger a piece with a shake. Got our food which was 42 dollars and I'm like where the fries. He said you didn't order fries. I was like wow 42 dollars for a 2 burgers and a shake my wife food was undercooked so we returned it all and soon as we walked to the counter he was making us some fries on the house.
