Hobby Lobby — Local services in Trussville

I was literally profiled at Hobby Lobby in Trussville. I have never seen a greater instance of blatant disrespect in my life. I am livid right now!!! Like to the point of shaking. Jenny Johnson and her team could have found someone else to follow around the store!

Then the other “assistant manager” literally walks to the window to see where I was going. When I asked her name she asked me why would I need her name.

Never in my life have u been treated like that. I was WISHING they actually said something to me.

Now I have to go SPEND my hard earned money with Michaels Stores because I will NOT BE treated that way.

Don’t let the workout clothes fool you, I’m a working, SUCCESSFUL professional.

I will be taking this up with corporate in the am.

Only shop at Hobby Lobby in Trussville if you want to be profiled!! The end!!!

Update: Just called corporate to share my experiences with the Trussville Hobby Lobby with Jenny Johnson and her team profiling and harassing me during my experiences last night. I spoke with Michael in the corporate office. He offered no resolve or follow-up for my encounter on last night.

Although he empathized with me, it ended there.

Reading and researching this location makes me realize that this is NOT the first instance of profiling and that others have had similar experiences. I see that one instance even made national news.

The article said that Hobby Lobby failed to respond or offer any kind of resolution to the store managers blatant disrespect of paying customers.

As much as I love shopping here, as it has been a part of my weekly experience, I can no longer spend my hard earned money with a corporation that allows its customers to be treated as such.

Yesterday was my second time going in this location and both felt very similar. Never again! My friend and I walk in together and part ways. I go back to the gel pens as I always do. Bought some my last trip in there. So I'm standing in front of the pens maybe 3 minutes after arriving at the store and hear "security check art's and crafts" . Then an employee comes and stands beside me 1ft over. I make sure she can see everything I do. I pick my pens. Holding them in my hands I start walking. I see more pens on an end cap. I stopped looked but didn't touch. I hear "security check isle D" once again that's where I am. So I walk off now looking for my friend I walked in with. The employee that was standing beside me in pens. Was now running behind me almost hitting me. So I said I'm sry excuse me like I'm in her way. She walks passed me turns back around and with a smart* smirk says "can I help you" I said I'm looking for my friend I walked in with. She stays standing in my face. So I say is there a problem? Because your acting like I stole something. But my product is still in my hand. I then dumped my purse in front of her and everyone else in the middle of the floor. Hobby Lobby is always a great place to visit and to shop. I will admit as a former employee of Michael's, I was a little bit biased. After several recent visits to Hobby Lobby I'm beginning to really enjoy the employees and the layout of the store. The store is huge and it has a wide variety of selections of merchandise. I've already used it several times to get supplies for my clients for the cakes they've ordered, or the different unique items they require. Every time I ask the staff a question they're prompt with an answer, and they always follow up with a smile. I'm so thankful that I live close to the store because it makes those last minute runs all that much more fruitful and timely. I really like all the furniture they have laid out and the specialty items in the front of the store before you enter the actual store. There's always a good deal or two that you can find there. Not to mention, the unique items that are on display are definitely that, unique. Thank you again for the awesome staff at Hobby Lobby for making every visit that I've had as pleasurable...
