For the last 14 years I've been getting a birthday cake every May for my sister and for 14 years it's been a great cake made right but this year I ordered cake it was supposed to have the cones on it it came with no cones I haven't put the cones on the cake was very small when I told him why is the cake so small this year and he said man this is the regular 8-in cake and then when we got the cake home I saw that for the birthday party and we cut it it was supposed to have the chocolate cake and it had vanilla the vanilla cake was so dried out and crumbly and tasted bad that it like have been sitting out in the sun for days and then the ice cream was vanilla and not New York cheesecake like it was supposed to be there's supposed to be thin layer of caramel in between the layers but it was actually a layer of hot fudge and it didn't even cover the whole surface of the layer there was so little frosting on the outside that you could see the cake through it I told the guy I never had a cake like this in the 14 years and I've been getting cakes here still had to pay full price I still got a crappy cake and now I'll be taking my business elsewhere even just before that I got myself a pint of ice cream I ordered Oreo I got back a mixture of four different flavors in one pint and I don't know how that happened even when I put in the cake order I watched the girl right down exactly what it was supposed to be she wrote it down correctly but he still gave it to me...
Read moreI went into this Bruster’s to get myself a sundae. I asked if I could swap the ice cream flavor and I asked for any recommendations. The person who was at the counter said it was just her second day and went to get her manager. The manager instead of being helpful as very rude and said “what recommendations do you need choose a flavor that is listed on the wall.” in a very rude way.
I do not blame the girl as it was just her second day but I blame the manager for firstly not training his staff properly and also not having the basic common sense on how to deal with a customer. If he had done his job properly I would have walked out with an amazing sundae to enjoy but I had to walk out in disbelief at how unprofessionally and rudely they treated me.
I urge the management to look into such situations and train their staff properly on how to deal with them. Having a great product is one thing but having a great experience is another. Take a lead from how Chic-fil-A treats their customers and why they keep going back for more.
Two stars only because the...
Read moreThis can be a fun place to go on a whim with the kids. I think the Dinosaur Sundae is a good deal. However, everything else on the menu is honestly overpriced when I could go to Publix across the street and buy a container of ice cream. I don’t find that the flavors are particularly good here. I have tried some of the seasonal flavors and am always underwhelmed. It just doesn’t taste that good for the price.
However, by far the most crazy thing about this place is that you are supposed to tip. I had no idea until one day a little ditty played as I was waiting very long to get my ice cream about not being mean and leaving a tip. It never even crossed my mind to tip someone to scoop ice cream for me (especially when it usually takes a very, very long time). Considering I could just buy delicious ice cream from a store and scoop it myself for less money, I almost consider going to Bruster’s as a nice way to support the business. It makes me concerned that the people working at Bruster’s are supposed to be getting tips, and probably no...
