La Glorieta Honduran Restaurant — Restaurant in Tucker

I recently visited this Honduran restaurant and overall, I really enjoyed the food, with just a few details to mention. The tamales had a flavorful masa, but I found them simple, mainly filled with potato and chicken. I understand that since we’re in another country, they probably have to keep the flavors approachable for a wider range of customers while still maintaining authenticity, maybe add another option that have more ingredients like a Christmas tamal.

The pupusas were a hit, especially the bean and cheese ones, my son loved them. The cheese-only pupusas, however, had a very mild flavor, and I noticed that they put a bit too much cheese, causing the tortilla to fall apart due to the moisture.

The sweet plantains with beans were absolutely perfect, and the “baleada loca” with beef was also a success at our table. My personal favorite was the fried pastelitos, they were delicious, and everything they served with them paired really well. I just wish the sauce came on the side so the pastelitos wouldn’t get soggy before finishing them.

One of the juices tasted slightly fermented, probably due to the heat wave, but the staff immediately replaced it and offered other options, which I really appreciated. Their customer service was excellent; they were attentive, polite, and greeted us with a smile, something that always makes the experience more enjoyable.

I wish I knew about this place sooner! Was super excited to try it because I saw them featured for Tucker Restaurant Week. I was unfamiliar with Honduran dishes, but one lady who spoke more English answered all of my questions kindly. I ordered a variety of dishes and was delighted, everything was so tasty! Everything is made fresh and quickly. Highly recommend the Pupusas and Baleadas if you like basics. Get the Platano con carne for serious flavor! They also have lots of different and fun...

I called to place an order and when I spoke in English I was hung up on. I called back multiple times and did not get an answer. I drove to the restaurant and they same girl act like she did not know it happened but spoke enough English to have taken my order. That is not how you operate business, anyone should be welcomed to your establishment. I was even able to speak enough Spanish to order my food in Spanish but was not given that...
