The back/side parking of the restaurant is set-up for drive thru/to-go orders so parking can be a bit of a mess, but we were able to get a spot in about 5 mins [we got stuck in the to-go lane] We walked in and there was a line of about 15 people. We waited in line for about 2 mins, it moved quick. The dessert bar + cold sides is up first. Followed by the hit mains/sides. Sundays menu is uploaded to their FB page and are charged by the item. I got the strawberry shortcake my hubby got the custard pie followed by turkey + dressing, fried chicken, green beans, Mac n cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy deviled eggs, country fried steak, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, collard greens with 1 sweet tea + 1 lemonade The food was great. The chicken had a good crunch, the gravy had good flavor, I loved my turkey/dressing and all the sides were delicious. I had way too much. I'll definitely be back because the owner was nice, came from behind the kitchen and was engaging with everyone there. The staff was very fast and super friendly. Can't wait to taste some of their other menu items.

It’s cafeteria food. Hot and freshly made, and quite a few entree choices, but unfortunately nothing special. Cafeteria food always seems to be expensive considering your meal is coming from a huge community pan. This two person lunch with an entree, side and drink deviled eggs and a peach cobbler came to over $30. So pricing is a little bit of a “magical mystery tour..”. Restaurant is a throw back with dated chairs and tables. Service was “Tucker friendly”, although a little rushed during lunch. Parking can be challenging with limited parking that has small parking slots. Most cars were over one line, making the adjacent space unparkable for anything but a small car.

So all the years I have lived in GA. I have heard of this place but never stopped in. I had lunch last week on a Friday and surprisingly this place was busy and the atmosphere was kind of like folks there belonged to the community. A lot of first name basis talk going on. So thr staff made us feel very welcome and the choices of buffet style food was all comfort food except for the premade salads. I had fried chicken, cream corn and Mac n cheese with a salad. All in all it was good however my chicken was a bit dry for my tastes. I'm unsure of the price but I believe it was average for the type of dining experience. I'd definitely recommend Matthew's Cafeteria!

Title: A Perfect Family Dining Experience: A Haven of Great Food and Charming Atmosphere Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5) I recently had the pleasure of visiting Matthews Cafeteria which left an indelible mark on my culinary journey. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I knew I was in for a treat. The atmosphere and the mouthwatering food combined to create an unforgettable dining experience.

Let's start with the atmosphere. The restaurant's ambiance was simple, and relaxed and as you might expect cafeteria dining to be. It was perfect for a family to enjoy an informal meal.

Now, let's talk about the star of the show—the food. Oh, the food! Each dish that graced our table was a testament to the deliciousness offered! The menu boasted a wide array of options, catering to various tastes and preferences. From the first bite to the last, I was captivated by the burst of flavors that danced on my palate. The ingredients were fresh and delicious.

The service was equally commendable. The staff members were attentive, and friendly. They anticipated our needs, offered helpful suggestions, and ensured that we felt welcome throughout our dining experience.

As a visitor from the NE Georgia Mountains, This restaurant truly stands out as a gem in the culinary landscape, and I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a unique and enjoyable cafeteria style dining experience.

The combination of the cafeteria atmosphere, delectable food, and service left me thoroughly impressed. Whether you're a local resident or a visitor like me, make sure to treat yourself to an unforgettable meal at this outstanding establishment. You won't be...

After years of hearing about how good Matthew’s is we decided to give it a try so off we went last night arriving about 630p. Let me say first that a cafeteria style meat and 3 with good tea and simple desserts is a personal favorite. It’s really hard to screw it up. Matthew’s succeeded! Upon entering we grabbed a tray, napkins and forks (no knives or spoons available) only to discover that we needed to regroup since everything we grabbed was sticky and just not clean. Once we secured clean utensils we proceeded down the line with about 3 customers ahead of us and by now 1 behind us. We made our selections, paid and grabbed a table. Our plates were abundant and we dove in. We both got the turkey and dressing with 2 sides and corn bread, 2 teas and 1 piece of pie. The turkey and dressing was not even room temperature so after a few bites we decided for safety reasons to not eat it, the sides were also not warm and a gelatinous mess, the pieces crust was charred and burnt as was the cornbread. We wanted to share our thoughts but could not identify anyone that seemed to be in charge. The staff was all very pleasant but individually busy with their assigned task. In conclusion considering that the tab was $40 including a 15% tip we will disappointedly not be returning. There are better values within...
