Probably three years ago I gave this place 5 stars for excellent food. Went back with friends, one had also been there before several times with me. The food was a huge disappointment. The taco meat was as follows: chicken very dry tough, Asada very dry & tough, fish - little square cubes? Used to be recognizable as fish. The asada plate was a thin slab of tough overcooked leather that was difficult to chew and cut. The prices are way overpriced. Just over $16 for three small street tacos (that I didn't even finish because they were so bad) and a fountain drink. There are so many excellent Mexican food places in Tucson to go to instead. This used to be one but no longer. I no longer recommend and taking this off of my recommended restaurant list. This was my first venture into the world of Tucson’s south side Mexican food options. I now need to make many more trips since this restaurant was delicious! The staff were friendly and the prices were fair. When we were there, the bathrooms were out of order and we caught a whiff of strong cleaning chemicals coming in the door. However, I’ll assume that was a one off. I didn’t get any sense the restaurant was otherwise unclean.

Food tasted good but the price for the burritos was kind of expensive for what it is.. I took a co worker to the NENE and it was basically 50 bucks for 2 burritos and 2 cokes.. They arent big taco truck burritos, they are like a taco bell burrito supreme size. The break down on my receipt is Burrito 16.63 + 2.08 for cheese and a coke, either bottled or fountain is $4.32. So for two burritos and two fountains it was $47.82 with tax. Prices on other items looks more reasonable but when they said the price i admit i puckered and held my breath...
