We met our son and his girlfriend at BBC. We got there at 9:30 on a Sunday morning and ended up having to wait for about 15 minutes. My wife and I have been to the original Bisbee Breakfast Club in Bisbee but we haven’t been to one of the several locations now open in Tucson. We hit the BBC on Wilmot, where the old Joe’s Crab Shack used to be (400 block of North Wilmot Road).
Overall, the food is about the same as the Bisbee location: good but not great, reasonably priced, and everyone but me had leftovers to take home.
I had the biscuits and gravy, which consists of two bland biscuits with spicy (it wasn’t) sausage gravy. I’ve had better gravy (Cozy Corner Cafe at Harrison and Golf Links). I also wished there had been more gravy covering the very bland generic square biscuit made in some industrial production facility somewhere. Home-made they ain’t. I would give them 2 stars.
My wife had pancakes and eggs and crispy bacon, which she had to send back to be made more crispy. She said her food was “okay” and she had some leftovers.
My son had a spinach omelette with fried potatoes. His also was “okay,” and he had leftovers. I tried one of the potato bits and it was cooked, but could have been a bit more crispy.
My son’s girlfriend had chicken fried steak, which is what I had during our visit to the Bisbee location. Her steak, like mine in Bisbee, was pre-shaped and made in some factory somewhere. It had a tiny dab of gravy on it, but not nearly enough. She liked her scrambled eggs and toast, but only nibbled at the steak.
The one standout from our breakfast was the coffee. My son and his girlfriend had several cups, which they said was “really good.” My wife had iced tea and I had ice water.
Our breakfast came in right at $50, which is generally on the lower end of what it costs for breakfast for four these days. Service was acceptable but not phenomenal.
I gave the Bisbee location three stars, which is what I am giving this location. I can’t rate it higher because the food is not as good as other breakfast joints in town. I advise getting there early. By the time we left at 10:45 the waiting area was jam-packed and waits were more than...
Read moreThis our first visit to Bisbee Breakfast Club on Wilmot in front of St. Joseph's hospital. (If you don't mind, BBC from here on.) We came midmorning, hoping to avoid the meal rushes. Not going to happen. To get immediate seating, we took to the counter. Unlike many restaurants, this counter is textured stainless steel, very attractive and super easy to clean. YES. This place is pretty much non-stop bustle. They have a flock of wait staff, ours was perky and pretty blonde Lacy, and they are constantly in motion. That makes the room a bit loud, but not so much that conversation is impossible. Listening to the chatter from the cook line was entertaining. Diane had the Gooey Louie, (7oz. burger with cheese, onion rings and BBQ sauce, which she excluded.) I had the Sonoran (same patty with mild chilies, cheese and guacamole, the latter I passed on.) We both got the side of onion rings. Now, I love onion rings and constantly search for new ones. BBC takes fresh onion, thin cuts and batters them and fries them just right. These are the BEST !!!!, no doubts or reservations. I could eat these little slices of fried heaven all day. Just the right mix of crispy, oniony flavor. I could go on but you just have to get some for yourself. I give them my highest accolade... YUMMMM I finished my lunch with a slice of coconut cream pie. Not sure if it home made but it was very good too. BBC is a tad pricey, our burgers were over $10 each, but they were very well made and the rabbit food was fresh. BBC has a great breakfast menu that we are committed to trying soon. Not sure I can justify having onion rings with French Toast, but I may do it anyway. Come by BBC, and grab a chair, just know you might have to wait for it. But its well...
Read moreIt was March 6th, 2019 and my husband and myself were looking for a place that we had not been to eat here in Tucson. We had heard of Bisbee Breakfast Club when we made a trip to Bisbee, Arizona. We remember seeing Bisbee Breakfast Club but had not had the opportunity to give it a shot. I have to confess, that my husband was the one that remembered. So, we headed to have breakfast, excited to try somewhere new. In other reviews that I have read, people have had to wait. We, did not. we were seated quickly and with a smile. Looking at the decor of the Breakfast Club we saw many references to Bisbee, AZ. That was great for us since we frequent Bisbee often and we truly enjoy the getaway to the historic town. The menu, we thought, was filled with good selections. Both for breakfast and lunch. We ordered lunch. The waitress was efficient and friendly and provided service with a smile. I am not sure how most people feel about customer service in any capacity but for my husband and myself it is one of the most important aspects of any service - retail, restaurant, etc.. I ordered the wrap -mmmmmm and my husband ordered the club. They were both very good. We did not wait long for our food order to arrive which is always a plus when one is hungry - we were. When we finished we were sent off with a "THANK YOU". The friendliness of the staff and the good food will definitely have us returning to enjoy Bisbee Breakfast Club on Wilmot - 410 N Wilmot Road. If you have the opportunity to stop in for lunch or dinner, do it. I think you will enjoy the atmosphere, service, and food that brings you...
