The place certainly has a cool atmosphere, though they play the music too loud for casual conversation. We read some great reviews so we decided to stop by on the way to the movies.

Unfortunately, the food was largely disappointing. The salsa appetizer was okay, and had an interesting savory profile. I ordered a chicken chimichanga and my mom got the enchiladas. While the meat was beautifully cooked in both cases, the only seasoning on it appeared to be the lard (I assume) it was cooked in. My chimichanga was sprinkled with cheese too mild to add any flavor, bits of unripened tomato, and plain lettuce which didn't contribute much. Besides the chicken there wasn't really anything inside the chimichanga - no sauce, no seasoning - so the whole thing mostly tasted like chicken grease. As you can see from the photo, the chimichanga was very thin, so the ratio of crust to chicken was seriously unbalanced. I wasn't even halfway through before I got sick of the crust and tore it open to just eat the filling. I have no idea what the sauce drizzle on top was - it didn't taste like anything and there wasn't enough of it to make any flavor difference.

While the sauce on the enchiladas was nice enough, they suffered the same problem - no seasoning on the meat. The whole dish unfortunately came off as boring once you were past the sauce.

Sadly, the side of rice and black beans that came with my mom's enchiladas ended up being my favorite thing I ate at the restaurant today. I don't know if the lack of seasoning is supposed to be more authentic, but it was just... lackluster. There was nothing on the table I could get excited about, and after hearing people rave (and seeing the prices) I was really hoping for a better showing. 😄 As pretty as the food looks in the photos, it just didn't deliver on the plating's promise. The ingredients seemed fresh and were well-cooked though, so overall it wasn't BAD, just...

This place has a dope vibe n pleasant atmosphere, however the service was Awful. I am under the impression that the staff is rather discriminative and a slight racist. It appeared to me that if you didn’t speak Spanish or portray a certain look you were dismissed. Upon walking in we weren’t greeted or acknowledged, I had side eyes from the staff n were given the ā€œwhat are they doing here lookā€ my Party of 3 that included myself, my mom and her friend arrived at the facilities at 7:15pm, our order was taken at 7:45, and did not receive our food till 8:30. Only parts of our food were delivered and not correctly, were never visited by our waitress or asked if we needed a refills. Every time I would try n get her attention, she would look away, normally, I would not be ā€œthat Ladyā€ but in this case I was very upset, there was 3 tables at the max that had customers already seated n had already been served. To say that it was busy, is out of the question. I ordered French fries (papas) that I never received. At the end of my meal of 2 overly cooked chicken tacos, the waitress stated ā€œoh i didn’t charge you for the papas (as if she should have)… my mom and her friend were extremely disappointed, I was embarrassed to have had them accompany me to this restaurant when I hyped up the place because I had heard so much good comments about the place, but after experiencing first hand such an utter disappointment.. well I guess the golden question you may ask, would i revisit after such rude n lousy service, the answer to that question is:...

The service was terrible from the moment we walked in, as seen in other experiences they seemed less than thrilled to see us. As 3 of the servers were standing in the bar area just talking we waited to be seated (as the front sign said to) and they even looked confused as to why we were there. Once sat as speaking to Lucero it’s like she kinda paid more attention to her ear piece than us. As excited as we were to eat here even asking questions about the menu they didn’t have the answers, the presentation of the restaurant is beautiful but they would do better with staff that actually seemed to want to be there. We waited about 45 minutes in to get my daughters sprite & my dads beer, anytime we asked of something it seemed to be forgotten, as much as we wanted to like the place I’d definitely give it a 5 for presentation, 3 for food & -1 for service. If you go hopefully you get a better experience, good luck!

My wife’s words, I on the other hand would not have been so nice & a lot more blunt. Worst experience ever. Save your money. Oh & my paradilla wasn’t even turned on, came on a skillet and then got cold in 5 minutes & the simplest plate (the kids meal) was the last to come in, actually had to remind the server and my daughter was very sad as she...

I absolutely love the decor in this restaurant! We came for Sunday lunch at about 1:45PM and it was very busy. Despite the mixed reviews, it is clear that folks really like this place. We had our drink menu, lunch menu and regular menu... lots of choices and some items were confusing to me but love the focus on flavor fusion here. We ordered some drinks - Mango Margarita (5 stars) and the Pinason. I think I was put off by the 'smoky' mezcal in the Pinason, otherwise I would have enjoyed. Chips/Salsa totally on point and our shrimp appetizer was fantastic. My husband ordered the shrimp tacos, I ordered the Chilaquiles from the lunch menu. Chilaquiles came with choice of meat (although I am not a fan of either with mine) and I went with Chicken when our server did not seem to understand I did not want meat (not an issue, my hubs will clean up) . So I hate to say that the Chilaquiles (red) had zero flavor. It was super odd, could not taste anything even though you could clearly see red sauce. Not sure what kind of chile they use. I ended up spicing up with some of the salsa on the table. Besides the Chilaquiles being a thumbs down, everything else was solid, including super friendly service!
