The Kolb Road Lounge is that rare neighborhood gem that somehow feels both familiar and exhilarating the moment you step through its doors. Tucked away just off the main drag, it strikes the perfect balance between laid-back comfort and polished sophistication—think polished wood floors, deep leather booths, and Edison-bulb pendant lighting casting a warm, amber glow across the room. A rotating art display on the far wall gives it just enough edge to feel current, while an open-air patio with string lights and potted greenery offers a breezy counterpoint to the intimate indoor bar area.
Ambiance & Layout • Bar Area: The centerpiece is a beautifully crafted, curved mahogany bar that seats a dozen patrons. The bartops are spotless, and the shelves behind are backlit to showcase an impressive array of spirits—from small-batch bourbons and boutique gins to international liqueurs and mezcal. • Seating: Plush booths line the walls for groups or date nights, while high-top tables in the center of the room encourage conversation and community. On weekends, a vinyl DJ spins classic soul and modern chill-hop, setting a mellow yet upbeat tone. • Patio: Out back, the patio’s lantern-lit courtyard is a quiet haven—perfect for sipping a nightcap under the stars or gathering with friends around the fire pits on cooler evenings.
Drink Menu & Culinary Bites • Cocktails: The craft cocktail list is both creative and approachable. Highlights include the “Desert Bloom” (Tequila, prickly pear syrup, lime, and a hint of jalapeño) and the “Roadside Old Fashioned” (bourbon aged in-house with a smoked cherry and orange twist). • Beer & Wine: A rotating selection of local brews keeps things fresh, and the wine list—though concise—features smartly chosen options from Napa to New Zealand. • Small Plates: While this isn’t a full-scale restaurant, the lounge offers shareable bites like truffle-salt fries, duck-fat popcorn, and a sumptuous charcuterie board with house-made mustards and pickles. They’re the ideal foil to the drinks menu.
Service & Shari’s Bartending Mastery If the Kolb Road Lounge is the stage, then Shari is its star performer. She’s the kind of bartender who remembers your “usual” after one visit and can riff on it to craft something new the next time around. Watching her work is a masterclass in hospitality: Warm Welcome: From the moment you sit, Shari greets you by name (or at least a friendly “Hey there, welcome back!”) and takes the time to ask how your day went without ever feeling scripted. Mixology Savvy: She knows her spirits inside and out—able to explain the subtle differences between two rye whiskeys, recommend the perfect gin for a botanical-forward martini, or balance the heat and sweetness in a bespoke cocktail for spice lovers. Flair & Precision: Whether she’s muddling fresh herbs, flame-tipping a citrus peel, or layering spirits with surgical precision, every motion feels both deliberate and effortless. She times her pours so that you’re rarely left waiting, but never feel rushed. Personal Touch: Shari peppers her service with little touches—a quick tasting spoon of her latest house-made shrub, a sidecar of candied ginger, or a playful garnish that speaks to your personality. She genuinely seems to delight in people discovering something new. Pacing & Presence: She has that rare gift of reading the room: bustling and fast-paced when the lounge is hopping, but patient and unhurried during quieter hours. And she’s always ready with a story about how she developed a new drink recipe or sourced an...

Read moreI give service tonight a zero. I was so excited to go to one of my favorite places krl. Upon sitting down, we were greeted by some bartender we don't know, that the seats were taken. Mind you there was a warm watered down water there and nothing else. We were told by the two bartenders to sit at a table. The patrons that were sitting at this spot, mind you, said it was okay to sit there. I feel like I was racially profiled and I am saddened that it had to come to this. We left after one beer and one vodka soda. I've never been treated this way ever in my 35 years. Im wealthy and my money is obviously no good here. I'm sorry to lose this place as a place that I go to but....This pill is too hard to swallow. Bad...
