Why we can feel blessed and appreciate the pastors and leadership of Covenant Generations Church. The word of God is preached in truth, transparency and with great humility.
What is the meaning of 2 Timothy 4:3 Many preachers today use clever clichés, and add to, or take away from, verses of Scripture to make them mean something that people want to hear, rather than what they actually say. They seem to prefer popularity with people, rather than the perfect will of God. This has left the church with the task of separating one preacher’s viewpoint from another’s viewpoint; and this has subsequently left many Christians choosing one preacher over another.
Comment: (You will never have to worry about this with Pastors Scotty and Jamie and the leadership at Covenant Generations Church)
All this has unfortunately produced misguided souls following men and doctrines, rather than following Jesus. These things were foretold by Paul in 2 Timothy 4:3-4, “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires; and will turn away their ears from the truth, and will turn aside to myths.” We are most assuredly in those days now.
In contrast: A true man of God reveres the word of God and approaches it honestly, treating it with the utmost respect. He knows the word of God is sacred and refuses to form his own opinions; what he doesn’t know, or understand, he leaves in the hands of God, trusting the Holy Spirit to reveal what He wants to reveal, when He wants to reveal it. He simply trusts in God and speaks of things the Lord has shown him and leaves questions to be answered when God wills. A true man of God faces reality, that is, he faces Jesus at all times, knowing that all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Him; he would never go outside of Jesus to find an answer to any question concerning God or His church. A true man of God is just that, a true man of God. Thank you Pastor Scotty and Pastor Jamie for teaching Gods truth with humility, as you are guided by the Holy Spirit and in the spirit of Love. You bring Gods truth to life.
Conclusion: The time has come for us to awaken from sleep and walk in soberness of mind, redeeming the time. We must weigh all we hear on the scales of God’s Holy Word, being careful to lay aside any preconceptions we might have. We must approach the Word with humility of mind and soul, and allow the Holy Spirit to reveal its truths to us. This is the...
Read moreI have been saved for over 50 years. I have been an usher, a deacon and in various church ministries in Tucson since 1978. I lived in the neighborhood of Covenant Generations Church for 40+ years but never entered their door. My wife and I have been searching for a home church for many years but we’ve never felt planted by the Holy Spirit. The other day I was driving down Kolb Rd. and a curious question came to mind about this church. That day was a Saturday, then on Sunday morning my brother-in-law Jim called me and said, “Carlo where would you like to go to church today?” He suggested Covenant Generations Church. This Sunday, March 14, 2021, Jim and I attended CGC. As previously stated, 50 years of being a saved Christian walking in faith I was totally blown away at how gentle, alive and exciting the move of the Holy Spirit lived in this church. From the moment I entered the tears flowed from my eyes thanking God that He finally brought me to a church family where my mind, heart and spirit was fed to its fullest. The congregation was comprised of a variety of individuals from various walks of life. There was no condemnation, there was no judgment, but what I found was LOVE, an honest, true and mighty work of the Holy Spirit within Tucson. I can honestly say that I have never felt in such a long time as a Christian such a move of the Holy Spirit which touch the very essence of my soul. I know this all sounds so very dramatic but that’s what happens when the Holy Spirit takes hold. Life changing experience. Thank you Lord Jesus for your faithfulness in directing my...
Read moreAWESOME WORSHIP - AWESOME MESSAGE We found Covenant Generations Church through a recommendation on Joel Osteen's website. My wife fell immediately in love with the Worship and Pastor Scotty's way of preaching the Word of God. We have been going for about 2 years now, we both "feel at home" there. WORSHIP: Top-notch rock worship, everyone praises loud and clear, the Holy Spirit is here. MESSAGE: Pastor Scotty makes the Word "come off the page" with a clear application to everyday life. Zero boring sermons. His only reference is the biblical text itself, not interpretations. The Word comes unadulterated, unalloyed, and it is delivered with love. PEOPLE/CONGREGATION: Cool and non-judgmental. We're all sinners, and Jesus came for the sick, not for the doctors. That's what Covenant Generations stands for, from top to bottom. DRESS CODE: None. I'm a biker, I come in my motorcycle garb. TODDLERS/KIDS/TEENAGERS: Yes, they are welcome. I've seen all ages participate in Worship with/without their parents, and the Church has a nursery and Sunday school for older children. TITHING: Advocated by the pastoral staff as a sign of obedience to Scripture, but many low-to-mid income families don't tithe. Pastor Scotty does not make it a condition to come and enjoy the service. CONVENIENCE: Central location, large secured parking lot and overflow parking lots around. Sunday services at 9:00 and 11:00 am, Wednesday service at 6:30 pm. I love my Church and can't recommend it highly enough. If you are overly judgmental and the Pharisee-type, you won't like...
