Mint Bar — Restaurant in Tucson

I just wanted to take a minute to leave an amazing review for this place. We play in a pool league, and we played here this past Monday. We had been there before about two years ago and I wasn’t sold on the place. Since then it has new owners and the atmosphere there is amazing. The people, most regulars were so nice, and welcoming. One lady asked if she could draw my wife, and hand drew an amazing picture of her. The owners husband, Dick, was such a nice guy and him and his team were some of the most friendliest people we have played in awhile. Here is the most important part, and why I’m leaving this review. The past year and a half or so has been really really rough on me and my wife. I won’t go into detail but it’s been hell. Last night I saw her truly light up, and have an amazing time. I saw happy on her face, true uninhibited joy. And it was thanks to the atmosphere and environment at The Mint. Even if for a night, the sadness was erased, and for that I can’t thank this place enough, and the owner/regulars/ pool team for being such amazing people and welcoming us in without restraint and being some awesome hosts. I used to love this place back when they had live entertainment I thought that it brought in a better crowd I like the idea they have very personable bartenders and you don't need to be a drinker to go in and have a good time when they had the live entertainment where's a good place to go and take someone dancing listen to some good music and I have a reasonably priced drink as well with someone who's nice and friendly and easy to talk to. I really wish they would go back to having live music again and I know many other people that feel the same way, not to be negative but I believe that it brought in a better crowd, bigger crowd, lot more fun crowd and it made it a fun place to go on a Friday or Saturday night. They also used to have open mic on Sunday which was a lot of fun and gave people a place to just go hang out get up and play music along with other musicians don't know why they stop this practice either but I believe they could build that business back up again if they return to their old formula God...

I used to go here some time ago many afternoons and evenings. I understand that things change, and I'm okay with that. But then mentioned that they had taken Bud off their tap after all this time. The server decided to get snarky and school me on how no other bars carry it on tap and walked away. I mentioned that it's fine. Then I mentioned that I go to other places that have it on tap, and she actually tried to tell me that I was lying. As if I don't go anywhere else on any given day. First off, that's absolutely untrue. Secondly, she didn't have to be so rude about it. Third, Jackie would never have been that rude. I just laughed and left.
